“Breakfast,” Milly said with a smile. “Go ahead and have a seat.”

Orion looked at the table where Bran and Santee were seated, their faces stuck in their phones. All seemed right with the world, except… Orion felt like a changed man. He wasn’t sure if it had anything to do with being forced into that forest or the fact that he’d slept with two guys at the same time last night.

“Are you okay?” Bran asked. “Why’re you just standing there staring?”

Santee snickered. “Because his brain short-circuited last night.”

Orion looked wide-eyed at his friend. “Are you really going to put me on blast, especially in front of Milly?”

“I’m no stranger to coitus,” she said with a blush. “If you want to give details, I won’t admonish you for it.”

“I only understood half of what she said,” Orion grumbled as he took a seat.

Bran cracked up. “She said she’s had sex, so if you want to spill the beans, she’s not going to stop you.”

Santee sat forward. “So, do you want to spill the beans?” Then he lowered his voice. “How was it sleeping with two guys?”

Orion sat at the table. “As soon as you tell me about you and Beckett, and all your intimate details, I’ll tell you about mine.”

“You’re no fun,” Santee pouted then looked over his shoulder. “Beckett does this thing where—”

“Morning,” Duncan said as he entered the kitchen.

Santee clamped his mouth shut and looked away, as if the ceiling was suddenly very interesting.

“Morning.” Now Orion was the one blushing profusely as he looked Duncan over.

Duncan kissed the side of Orion’s neck. “How’d you sleep?”

“Sandwiched between two guys.” Santee snickered again. “Probably the best sleep he’s had in a long time.”

As much as Orion wanted to smack Santee, he was telling the truth. Orion hadn’t had a single dream about Marvell kidnapping and beating the shit out of him. He hadn’t woken up in a cold sweat, relieved to see he was in his own room.

In fact, Orion had slept like a baby while he was “sandwiched” between Duncan and Izel.

Though, as far as Orion knew, Izel hadn’t slept. The guy had simply lain there holding Orion. Unfortunately, when the sun rose in the sky, Izel was gone. More than likely out reaping, which was something Orion was still trying to get used to.

“Fine,” Orion finally answered. “You?”

Duncan winked. “Like I’ve never slept before.”

Bran and Santee cracked up laughing, earning a growl from Duncan.

“They’re just jealous.” Orion smirked at the two. “They only have one mate, so only one side of them gets warm at night.”

Milly brought over a serving platter with mounds of food, from French toast dusted with powdered sugar and topped with strawberries to every breakfast meat imaginable, along with fluffy scrambled eggs and grits.

“I think I love you,” Orion teased as the delicious smells wafted up his nose and the pang went straight down into his stomach. “Just what I need before I have to head into work.”

“You didn’t tell me you had to work today.” Duncan piled five pieces of French toast onto Orion’s plate.

There was no way Orion was going to eat that much.

“I also didn’t tell you I have a haircut appointment before work,” Orion said. Although he’d gotten on board last night with the whole mating thing, he still wasn’t going to let anyone run his life.

His mother did a bang-up job of that herself. When he’d checked his phone this morning, he’d seen that she’d texted him five times about where he was and he’d missed three calls from her.

“I have a therapy appointment in two hours,” Bran said to Duncan. “In case you wanted to know. My mom is joining me for this session.”
