Great. Now Orion was waiting for the trees to come alive or for Tinker Bell to show up. How he wished he was still at home arguing with his mom. If he’d known this was going to happen, he would have given in to her demand.

“You don’t have to look so sad.” Duncan’s voice had softened. “We’re going to get out of here.”

“It’s not that,” Orion said. “Not entirely. It’s going to sound stupid, but I miss my mom.”

“That’s not stupid.”

Orion looked at Duncan. “Where’s your mom?”

Something passed behind Duncan’s eyes. “We should keep moving.”

Orion knew when a subject was closed, and Duncan had slammed the door on Orion’s question.

“To where?” Orion asked. “You just said you have no idea where we are, that we weren’t in the forest at home.”

Just then Izel reappeared.

“Don’t you ever do that again!” Orion snapped. “I thought I was going to die out here.”

“I knew we weren’t,” Duncan mumbled.

“My apologies,” Izel said to Orion. “I was called away.”

“To reap souls,” Orion said.

Izel nodded. “Yes.”

“Fine, take us back to Duncan’s,” Orion said. “Or better yet, take me home.” He looked over at Duncan. “And put some clothes on him.”

He wasn’t sure if Izel could do that, but trying to stay mad when there was naked man-candy next to him was hard to accomplish. Orion had to keep forcing his gaze way from Duncan’s cock.

“Am I too tempting?” Duncan teased.

Orion glared at him. “Didn’t you say something about shoving your nose into Izel’s crotch?”

Izel waved a hand, and Duncan was dressed in a pair of relaxed jeans and a Hennelly. The dark blue looked damn good on him. It was better than the weird outfit Izel was wearing. The leather limb-encasing garments left little to the imagination, and Izel was just as ripped as Duncan was.

Orion was surrounded by hot beef and couldn’t sample any. Well, he could, but this was a mess he didn’t want to get entangled in.

Izel nodded. “I will take you home. I apologize for our current circumstances. This wasn’t my intended destination.”

A bad feeling settled deep in Orion’s gut. “Where exactly are we?”

Duncan looked around. “Somewhere that we shouldn’t be.”

Izel’s expression darkened. “Indeed. We shouldn’t linger.”

As they walked, Orion kept his gaze on Izel’s outfit. It was skintight and showed every inch of muscle. “You know, it’s not easy to keep my mind off … things when you’re dressed like that.”

Izel looked down at himself. “This is how my people dress. It is designed for ease of movement and protection. It’s not meant to be provocative.”

Orion wasn’t sure if Izel realized just how provocative the outfit really was. “You need a mirror, buddy.”

Duncan smacked Orion on the back of his arm. “Stop flirting with him, Orion. He’s a reaper. He doesn’t have feelings like that.”

Orion scowled at the guy. “That’s rude.”

“But true,” Izel said. “My emotions have been muted for two millennia. It helps me do my job.”
