She chuckles, and the sound reverberates through my body, all the way to my rock hard cock, making it twitch against my zipper.

“Are you saying you’re disorganized?” There’s just the slightest hint of a tease in her voice and my cock responds to a painful extent, although I still manage a smile.

“I wouldn’t go that far, but I’m in need of constant assistance.”

Her eyes sparkle, and she sucks in a breath, letting it out slowly.

God… could she be any more sexy?

I’m aware that time isn’t on our side, though, and there are things we need to discuss… like when she can start working here. Because I’m going to hire her. I decided that the moment she walked in the door.

“I believe you only have to give a month’s notice to your current employers. Is that right?”

She nods her head. “Yes.”

“Good.” Her eyes widen slightly. “And did Mr. Hampton explain to you about the package we offer here?”

“He said something about a car, and a phone, and a ninety-day trial period.”

“I think we can waive that.”

“Which one? The car, the phone, or the trial period?”

“The trial period. Although I suppose I ought to ask… can you drive?” There isn’t much point in me arranging a car for her if she can’t.

“Yes. I don’t at the moment. But I used to, when I lived in Falmouth.”

“Okay.”

She blinks a couple of times, her eyes truly shining now. “Are… are you offering me the job, Mr. Bennett?”

“Yes, but only if you agree to call me Hunter.”

“Okay… Hunter.”

My name on her lips is about the sexiest thing I’ve ever heard, but I need to regain some control. I’ll have to show her out of my office fairly soon, and at the moment, that would be embarrassing… for both of us.

“It’ll all have to be handled through HR,” I explain, grabbing a file from my desk.

“I see. Does that mean I’ll be hearing from Mr. Hampton?”

She sounds doubtful, bordering on worried, and I drop the file, sitting forward. “Would you rather not?”

“I—I don’t want to cause any trouble.”

“You’re not. Doreen can liaise with you, if that’s easier?”

I’d love to say I’d do it myself, but I’m not sure that’s a wise idea, given how I feel about her. To be honest, I’m not even sure it’s a wise idea to be hiring her. But I can’t let her go. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to let her go.

“W—Would that be okay?”

“Of course.”

She smiles and gets to her feet. I copy her, picking up the file again and holding it in front of me as I follow her to the door. I don’t even remember what’s inside this file, and I’ve got no intention of doing anything with it, other than using it as a shield, but Livia doesn’t seem to notice and when we get outside, she turns and looks up at me.

“I’ll be hearing from you, then?”

“Yes, you will.”
