“It’s good for her. Dom needs this as much as they do. But the wolf? Rafe is going to have to stay grounded for a while,” Greyson insisted.
“That’s not going to be an easy task.” The Alpha’s mind raced. “Yeah, no. He’s not going to be content sitting in your home being babysat by a vampire.”
“Dominque can handle it. She’s older than him. She’ll whip his ass into shape and he’ll probably enjoy it.”
“I shouldn’t have brought him to Kellan’s.” Guilt laced through him. “But I had no idea Kellan would conjure cambions. Jesus Christ, that fae has become a menace.”
“If you’d told Rafe that he couldn’t have gone with you, he would have fought you tooth and nail. Kellan had already gotten under his skin.”
“Rafe caught him spying out in Wyoming. Almost killed him that day. Hunter was the one who let him go.”
“The next time I see Kellan, he’s as good as dead. I’m gonna rip him limb by limb,” Greyson promised. “He won’t have to worry about granting his fucking favors to people. We’ve all let his bad behavior pass for far too long.”
“Agreed. He may have been useful at one time, but now he’s too dangerous. We need to alert Kade and Logan. Take him out.”
“He’s gotta be mixed in deep with a demon faction to be given access to cambions. A powerful demon gave him those things.” Greyson shook his head. “Tonight was next level. It’s been a while since I’ve seen anything like that.”
“Secrets of Hell?” Julian scoffed. “I’m so fucking over this shit.”
“Same, wolf, same. If it hadn’t been for your mate there, we’d have been royally fucked.” Greyson laughed. “In all my years I’ve never seen a shifter turn elephant. She’s smart though. Real smart. Any other animal could have been killed by those things. But she crushed them good.”
“She really is magnificent.” Desire burned inside him at the thought of her.
“And she saved Rafe tonight. I know that must have been a difficult decision, but it was the right one.”
“It was…” Courageous. Hot as fuck. Julian released a calming breath. “Necessary.”
“Necessary? Yeah, okay. If that’s what you want to call it.” Greyson laughed and sipped his whiskey. “You almost didn’t agree to it. I know your wolf damn sure mated her afterwards, didn’t it?”
“Well, yeah,” Julian couldn’t lie. “It was one of those things. I’ve got this mating going on and after seeing her reaction to his bite? Come on, now. You’re a vampire. You of all people know how it works.”
“It’s an aphrodisiac.” Greyson waggled his eyebrows. “Fair trade. Blood for pleasure. It’s a win win.”
The Alpha laughed. “I’d marked her the other night, but then seeing her with Rafe? It was hot, I’ll admit, but my wolf wasn’t having it. She’s mine so …”
“You’re mated now.” Greyson nodded.
“Correct. But she’s chameleon and you know, there’s this small part of her that must submit to my wolf.”
“Seemed like she did well enough back there.”
“Yes, but she must reveal her wolf.”
“I have no advice my friend, as I’m a bachelor. But from what I can surmise from her behavior, she’s into you … as the kids would say.”
“It will happen to you too, Grey-man. Just wait.” Julian laughed.
“Hell no. I’m quite satisfied fucking and feeding, then fucking some more. No commitment works well for me. Humans are tasty but I like to mix it up with a shifter or a witch every now and then. Keeps life interesting.”
Julian sensed his presence before Rafe entered the study. “Come, wolf. Have a drink.”
“Ah fuck.” Rafe entered wearing a pair of black sweatpants and a t-shirt that read ‘dog person’.
“What the hell are you wearing?” Julian asked.
Rafe shrugged. “I dunno. Dominique gave it to me.”
“Good she put clothes on you,” Greyson told him. “Despite what you wolves think, running around naked isn’t an option in this house. Viktor should have taught you this.”
