A low groan escapes my throat as he deepens the kiss, his tongue gently exploring my mouth. His hands move down my back, sending shivers down my spine. I feel butterflies in my stomach, a mixture of excitement and nervousness. I’ve never felt this way before.

He breaks the kiss, his eyes searching mine. “Ameline,” he whispers, his voice rough with emotion. “You’re everything I’ve ever wanted. I love you.”

“Gabe,” I whisper back, barely above a whisper. “I love you too.”

He pulls away slightly, his fingers tracing my jawline once more. I feel a stab of disappointment as he breaks the contact. I watch him as he moves his fingers toward the nightstand, his broad shoulders taking up the entire bed. My heart races as he reaches for a condom, tossing it onto the mattress beside him. He rolls off the bed, and I hear the noise of him opening the wrapper, the soft rustle of the foil. I can’t help but watch as he rolls it on, my breath hitching in my throat at how big and thick he is.

When he climbs back onto the bed, I feel his heat on my skin. His fingers trace a path down my arm, leaving a trail of goose bumps in his wake. His eyes lock with mine, burning in their depths. I swallow hard, my mouth suddenly dry.

Gabe’s hands find their way to my hips, pushing my legs wide apart. His gaze never leaves mine as he leans down, his lips brushing against my ear.

“Are you ready for this, baby?” he whispers, his breath sending shivers down my spine.

I nod, my voice caught in my throat. I can’t find the words to express the emotions roiling inside me. Gabe’s hands slide up my sides, his thumbs brushing against the sensitive skin of my inner thighs. My breath hitches as his fingers graze my core.

When he finally enters me, it’s slow and steady, a deep groan escaping his lips. I feel full, stretched, and yet, there’s a familiarity to it that sends shockwaves through my body. Every inch of my skin tingles, and my heart races. He moves slowly at first, teasing me with his rhythm. But soon, he picks up the pace, pushing deeper inside me with each thrust.

The warmth spreads between us, building up an uncontrollable fire. The sheets twist around us, our bodies entwined in a dance of passion. He nips at my neck, sending shivers down my spine.

“Gabe,” I moan, meeting his thrusts. “Faster.”

He obliges, slamming into me with a force that takes my breath away. He continues thrusting, pulling, thrusting. Suddenly, I cry out, my body trembling underneath him. The sensation is overwhelming.

He collapses on top of me, his chest heaving as he catches his breath. Our hearts still pounding in unison. His lips brushing against mine.

“That was amazing,” he whispers. “You are amazing.”

I can’t speak. Instead, I wrap my arms around him, holding him close. And I get lost in his embrace, his scent and him.

Chapter Thirty-Eight

Gabriel

The morning light filters through the curtains, casting a soft glow over the room. I blink awake, and my first conscious thought is the warmth of Ameline sleeping beside me. It’s an image I’ve dreamed of countless times, but reality far surpasses any fantasy.

Having her in my bed, in my arms feels just right. Perfect. I don’t know what’s going to happen to her, to us. Our future is uncertain. I’m scared of what it could be, or the things we can lose. But I choose to love her even when there are so many uncertainties.

I choose her over everything and everyone.

I choose her voice—the music her heart creates when it beats.

I choose the magic that surrounds her.

I choose her sunshine and her beautiful chaos.

As the minutes tick by, I study her features—the way her eyelashes flutter slightly as she dreams, the soft curve of her lips, and the peaceful expression that adorns her face. This woman, with her strength and vulnerability, her laughter and tears, has become the center of my world.

Her body feels warm and soft against mine. I watch as she slowly wakes up, her eyes fluttering open. A sultry smile spreads across her face, and my heart melts. We’ve shared so much already, and it feels like we’ve been together for a lifetime. I can’t help but feel a sense of longing and desire for her.

“Morning,” she murmurs, her voice husky with sleep.

“Hey, you,” I reply, my voice rough from want.

“How do you feel?” I ask, hoping she isn’t too sore.

“A little achy, but it’s a good kind of ache,” she replies, her hand trailing up my chest. “Last night was . . . intense, perfect.”

I can’t help but feel a blush creeping up my cheeks at her words. “Yeah, it was,” I agree, my eyes drifting down to her breasts, still bare from the night before. I can’t help myself; I need to touch her.
