CHAPTER ONE

I just found out a few weeks ago that you’re my son.

Jacob tossed back his whisky and slammed it down on the bar.

You are my son.

He lifted his glass, and the bartender reached for the Macallan, automatically filling his glass.

It was only his fourth, or maybe his fifth, but if there was anyone who deserved to get drunk right now, it was him.

You are my son.

“Fuck,” Jacob muttered and ran his hand through his dark locks as he swiveled against the bar and stared out across the club.

It wasn’t just any club.

Sailors Club had multiple levels. The public floor had all the bassy music, gorgeous women, rich men, and innuendos you could want in one of the hottest spots in Philadelphia.

Level two, on The Deck, as it was called, kicked things up a notch. The same music piped through the sound system while a red haze from the lighting merged with the black and gold décor. The classy servers wore a little less, creating a seductive ambience which hinted at things upstairs but acted as more of an intermediary, or safe space, to dip your toes in.

Into what you may ask?

Anything you please.

Level three, The Observatory, which was aptly named, allowed patrons to watch people down below or those around you who were partaking in whatever they desired.

While you had your cock sucked.

Or your clit lapped at.

Whatever took your fancy.

Of course, only those with a VIP membership were cleared to access The Observatory.

Was he a member? Well, you could say he had a vested interest in Sailors Club.

As one of the owners.

“You okay, Jacob?” Trent asked, sliding his whisky across the polished black wood bar.

Was he?

He’d recently found out that his brother’s father-in-law was, in fact, his real father.

His mom had never told him or his brother who their dads were. They knew they were two different men, but that was all.

Growing up with their uncle, aunt, and their three children, Logan, Aidan, and Amelia, they’d had such a loving family it had never been a huge deal.

Of course, every boy wants to know who their father is, but his mother, Samantha Dufort, was a closed book and wouldn’t tell them anything. He’d overheard his grandparents arguing with her from time to time before they passed, but she was tight-lipped and wouldn’t budge.

Until Blake married Bella Montgomery.

Now Bella Dufort.

Bella’s mom met Ward Montgomery around the time his mother was pregnant with him, so the story goes. The two had already been broken up for a few months and Samantha had taken it upon herself to keep the news to herself.

She had given birth to Jacob and never told Ward he was a father.
