One hand brutishly grabs my shirt, but then he stops – remembering me.

The slavish horniness turns into care in that moment.

Self-control… empathy, from a mad murderer?

His lips find mine as he pumps into me again – the length of him stretching me is all I ever wanted. I cross my ankles to squeeze him tighter.

“Prote—” I try to get a word out in between a moan. “Protection,” I exhale. “You shouldn’t come inside—again.”

“Never,” he rasps between his own labored breathing, gripping the grass at either side of my head. “Do you want me to stop?” He pumps me slower, teasing me.

“Don’t you fucking dare.”

Chapter 20

Alessia

I’m scared to walk down the stairs to my prison.

There’s still a streak of cum spewing out of me, and I’m all dirtied from the ground Leandro took me on. As the door shuts behind me, I suddenly feel like a hitman’s whore. One of five, to be exact. And now I have to face my sister-wives who’ve been starved for attention the whole day.

Do I tell them about the murder?

Do I lie about his confessions, his passion?

Arnold is just minutes away from ending it all, if only I’d let him.

It’s around 9:30. There’s no reason to tiptoe. I squeeze my coat tightly around me, closing my eyes as I descend the stairs. Here it comes.

Two gasps.

“Sia! Are you okay?” Gabby jumps off the couch, and even Maria looks concerned.

“What happened?” Maria perks up. “Are you hurt?”

I wave her down. “Fine, guys. I’m fine.”

“You don’t look fine. Did you finally try to escape?” Gabby asks, nearly as breathless as I just was not that long ago.

“No, but maybe I should have.” I laugh weakly. “He took me on a hit. It almost went sideways.”

More gasps sound, and the doors in the back open. Jane and Anabel emerge to see what’s going on.

“All day you’ve been gone.” Anabel struts up to me without an inch of compassion. “He favors you.”

It’s like she can sniff the lies off of me. Hours and hours she’s been stewing, wondering where I’ve been. I’ve seen it before with her. Whenever one of us is out for a minute more than her time with Leandro, she freaks out.

“I doubt that, Anabel.” I flash her a brief smile and plop on the couch. “I don’t feel so good.” More than anything, I want to wash off in the bathroom, but I can see the crowd around me won’t let that happen any time soon.

“He actually took you on the job?” Gabby rubs my back. “That must’ve been awful.”

“Terrifying. Look at me, I’m still shaking like a leaf.” I offer my quivering hands. Little do they know I’m nervous because of them, and Arnold, not Leandro at this point.

“So you saw him kill?” Jane asks.

I nod.

“What was it like… being on the other side?” Anabel’s eyes brighten. Maybe this one does belong as a mafia wife. She’s got a real craziness about her that extends beyond lust.
