“Water. I’m not usually involved in such athletic activities this time of night.”

I reached down and grabbed his T-shirt and threw it on over my head but didn’t bother with underwear.

My body was tender and my legs felt like jelly. But I was happy, and at the moment there was a big, brawny biker in my bed.

Life does not suck.

“Nice place,” Smoke said as he followed me to the kitchen, pulling up his boxers. “I didn’t get to see much of it before, but it’s nice.”

“I like it,” I said. I went to the cabinet and pulled out a glass. I filled it from the tap and then drank half of it before handing it to Smoke.

He downed the rest of it and then his stomach rumbled.

I grinned. “Hungry?”

“I got a lot to eat, but I didn’t get dinner.”

My cheeks heated. I glanced at the clock. Just past nine.

“I can make you something, if you want.”

“I want.”

I nodded and went over to the fridge. I opened the door and pulled out a block of cheese, a loaf of bread, butter, and mayo.

“Grilled cheese okay?” I asked.

“Grilled cheese is perfect.”

“Want a beer?” I asked.

“What’ve you got?”

“Amber ale.”

“That’ll do.” He walked over to the fridge and pulled out a bottle. I opened a drawer and found the bottle opener and handed it to him.

“You look cute in my shirt,” he said after he took a sip.

“Do I?” I asked as I spread the butter on the slices of bread.

“You do.”

“You look cute sitting in my apartment,” I said, leaning over and kissing him.

He grasped the back of my head and kissed me deep, and with tongue.

“You’re insatiable,” I said as I pulled back with a grin.

“For you? Definitely.” He nodded his head at the bread. “What’s with the mayo?”

“You put mayonnaise on the outside of the bread so when you sear it in the pan it gets nice and crispy. I’m about to make you the best grilled cheese you’ve ever had.”

I took out a pan and turned on the burner. I moved around the kitchen as the pan heated.

Smoke stood by and watched me, sipping on his beer every now and again.

“Here you go,” I said, placing the plate with a grilled cheese in front of him.
