“Taste,” he whispered, lifting his fingers to my lips.

I sucked his fingers deep into my mouth, licking them clean.

“Fuck,” he growled. “That’s hot.”

I slowly sat up and then I made my way into the bathroom to turn on the shower. I slid the curtain aside and climbed into the steamy water and let out a sigh of pleasure.

There was light rap on the door followed by the sound of it opening. The curtain pulled back just enough for Smoke to step in behind me. My face was turned up to the spray and Smoke pressed himself to my back.

“This is beginning to feel familiar,” I said.

He soaped my back and then reached around to wash my breasts and belly. His hands lingered and I leaned against him and enjoyed his touch.

It was a quick shower, and before I knew it we were back in bed, cuddling.

I didn’t want to say it out loud, but I couldn’t stop the thought.

I feel safe in his arms.

Sunlight streamed through the blinds, gently easing me awake. I yawned so hard my jaw popped. I glanced at the clock.

Just past nine.

Smoke was still asleep. He was on his back and I had a perfect view of his chiseled jaw and the five o’clock shadow that had grown since he’d shaved.

Smiling, I crept from the bed and hastily threw on some clothes. I slid into my flip flops and quietly left the apartment and closed the front door.

I was beaming, lost deep in thoughts of the sexy man upstairs in my bed when I entered the bakery. Thankfully, there were only a few people in line, and neither Jazz nor Brielle were on the floor.

When it was my turn, I gave the barista my order.

“I’ll put it on your tab,” she said.

“Thanks.” I grinned and dropped a few bucks into the tip jar and then moved off to the side to wait for my coffees and pastries.

“Logan!”

I turned at the sound of my name.

Willa, Mia, and Sutton were sitting at corner table with pads of paper, pens, mugs and plates in front of them.

I couldn’t avoid them now that they’d seen me, and immediately began to wonder if there were no other place in the city to have breakfast.

“Good morning,” I said as I came over. “What are you guys up to?”

“We’re having a meeting about Mia’s new bar,” Willa said. “We’re talking website design.”

“My bar with Boxer,” Mia corrected. “We’re opening a jazz bar with a speakeasy feel.”

Sutton grinned. “It’s really exciting.”

“Sutton’s going to be the GM,” Mia explained.

“Oh, wow. Cool,” I said.

“We’ll need people to taste test the cocktails,” Mia said. “You and Tavy in?”
