“It’s where she belongs, fucker,” Smoke snapped.

I finally opened my eyes and let out a squeak of surprise. My four brothers were leaning over the bed, looming, terrifying, and way too alert for the time of day.

I looked at the alarm clock on the nightstand. “It’s seven in the morning.”

“I wanted to come in at five,” Grady stated. “They wouldn’t let me.”

“No one is awake at five. It’s an ungodly hour,” I sniped.

“Chase was just getting into bed at five,” Harlan ribbed.

Chase glared at him.

“What were you doing out until five in the morning?” I demanded.

“I was—we’re not here to discuss me,” Chase said, standing tall. “We came to discuss the situation.”

“What situation?”

Killian pointed between me and Smoke. “This situation.”

“Smoke and Dad have already had this discussion. This doesn’t involve you.”

“Let them have their say,” Smoke said. “Won’t change a damn thing. I’m still going to marry you. Even if they hate the idea.”

Grady and Killian looked at each other. “You want to marry her?” Grady asked.

“Yeah. I want to marry her,” Smoke said.

“And I want to marry him,” I added.

“You don’t want to marry him,” Killian said.

“Yes, I do,” I insisted.

“You barely know each other,” Chase protested. “How the hell can you guys want to get married?”

“And you were just engaged. Don’t you need, I don’t know…a mourning period or something?” Harlan winced. “Bad choice of words. Sorry.”

I looked at Smoke. “Two kids, max. And they’d better both be girls. Boys are a pain in the ass.”

Smoke grinned. “I’ll see what I can do.”

“Kids? What kids?” Grady demanded.

“You’re not ready to have kids!” Killian announced. “I’m not ready to be an uncle.”

“Okay, look,” I said, finally scrambling up out of bed, forcing Harlan and Chase to back up. “Grady, you haven’t been on a date in ten years. Kill, you only do one-night stands.”

“Jeez, keep it down, will ya?” Killian looked over his shoulder at Mom and Dad’s hotel room.

I glared at him and then turned the force of my anger onto Chase. “And you…”

He raised his brows. “What about me?”

“You’re still pining for Rachel, and you’re kicking yourself for ever having let her get away in the first place.”

“Me next,” Harlan stated with a devilish grin. “Do me next!”
