“Have your own conversation,” I stated.

Raze shrugged.

“Wait,” Jazz said. “You all knew? But Brielle and I didn’t find out until we saw Smoke coming out of the bakery apartment?”

Bones spoke into the phone and placed a massive coffee order, said thanks, and then hung up. Then he addressed the room. “We all knew because Smoke couldn’t stop staring at her ass and Logan got really awkward every time they were in the same room together. So naturally, we did what we had to do.”

“Which was?” Brielle asked.

“I pursued Logan to piss Smoke off. Finally, we had it out in the sparring ring and we came to an agreement. I was going to back off and Smoke got his head of out of his ass and locked her down,” Bones said. “Can I get another one of those biscotti?”

Brielle held out the box to him.

“You mean you backed him into a corner so he was forced to make a declaration,” Jazz said.

“Something like that,” Bones said with a grin. “It worked. They’re together and shit.”

“We’re not together,” Smoke said, finally joining the conversation. “She’s my Old Lady.”

“When the fuck did that happen?” Kelp asked.

“Yeah, when the fuck did that happen?” I demanded.

“Oh, like just now,” Smoke said with a grin.

Bones whooped loud enough to rattle my ear drums. “I knew my plan would work!”

“You’re a regular matchmaker,” Brielle drawled.

There was a knock on the door.

“Not the coffee already,” Kelp said even as he went to answer it.

It was Sutton and Viper.

“Just in time for the party,” Kelp said to them.

“Party?” Sutton asked. “There’s a party? Good thing I brought food.”

Chapter 49

“Your friends are exhausting,” I said, my head on the pillow next to Smoke’s.

“Not as exhausting as your friends.” He held my hand as his eyes closed. “Savage and Duke haven’t come by yet.”

“I think they’re coming by later,” I said. “Tavy hasn’t shown up yet…”

He paused for a moment. “She came by.”

I sat up quickly. “When?”

“When you and your mom were down at the hot tub.”

“Why didn’t you tell me?” I demanded.

“Because I didn’t want to hurt your feelings.”

“So, you let me believe my best friend was a selfish asshole who didn’t even visit her own father?”
