“I didn’t sleep much either,” he admitted.
“No?”
“Not until I fisted my cock and came to thoughts of you in my bed.”
The carton of cream slipped from my fingers and fell onto the counter, spilling everywhere.
I cursed and hastily reached for it, but Smoke’s hand on mine stopped me.
“Logan—” His voice was low, raspy.
“Don’t,” I snapped.
His tone was the same one he’d used when he’d been inside of me, speaking dirty words into my ear.
With a sigh, he pulled away and grabbed the dish towel hanging on the refrigerator door handle.
The clomp of heavy boots announced someone’s presence, and a moment later Raze appeared.
His gaze darted from me to Smoke, and then back to me and the container of creamer all over the counter. “Looks like someone creamed themselves…”
“Shut the fuck up,” Smoke gritted.
Raze grinned.
My cheeks flamed in embarrassment. “I’ve got some work to do. See you later.”
I grabbed my coffee and quickly escaped back to my room. I wasn’t sure if Raze knew that Smoke and I had slept together, but I was sure he sensed the heat between us.
Shit.
Did that mean the others could feel it?
Could Tavy?
In that moment I made a new rule for myself. I would not be in the same space as Smoke alone. I’d excuse myself, avoid him at all costs; lie or do whatever I had to do to make sure this thing was dead and buried.
I closed the door to my room and then set my mug of coffee onto the nightstand. I grabbed my laptop from my bag and then attempted to lose myself in work.

I glanced at my phone. It was a little before three and I’d left the room once to go to the bathroom.
A soft knock sounded at the door.
I took a deep breath. “Come in.”
The door opened and Tavy entered.
Disappointment curled through my chest when I saw it wasn’t Smoke.
Wrong emotion.
I forced a smile. “Hey.”
“Hey.” She bounded over to the bed and plunked her bottom down. She wore blue scrubs and her dark hair was in a high ponytail. “Didn’t want to interrupt you, but I wanted to interrupt you.”
I laughed. “Please, interrupt. I’ve been going over some CAD drawings and I could use a break.”
