“Take the dogs with you!” the woman called out.

“Monk! Captain!” Silas barked. “Let’s go outside!”

The two dogs bounded after Silas.

“Whew,” the woman said as she went to the kitchen sink to wash her hands. “The chaos started early today.”

“What else can we take out back,” Duke asked.

“Condiments, the chips, the salads in the fridge,” the woman said.

Savage saluted. “Sir, yes, sir!”

“Corral him, would you?” the brunette said to Willa.

“Oh, I wish I could. Believe me.” Willa grinned.

The brunette looked at me. “You’re Logan.”

“Yep,” I said with a nod.

“Hi, I’m Mia.”

“The club president’s wife, right?” I asked.

She nodded. “There’s soda and beer in the coolers out back. Help yourself to anything you want. If we don’t have it, ask and I’ll get a prospect to run out and get it for you.”

“Ah, thank you.” I blinked in surprise.

“How do I get that kind of treatment?” Savage demanded.

“You do get that kind of treatment,” Willa said with a laugh.

“You guys go, I’ll be out in a minute,” Mia said.

Acid led the brigade and I brought up the rear.

“Hey, Logan, wait a second,” Mia said.

I hung back for a moment and looked at the woman who couldn’t be more than a few years older than me.

“I know this is overwhelming,” she began. “There’s a lot of us. We’re all going to be new to you. But seriously, if you need anything, please let us know. Let me know.”

“Are you always this kind to relative strangers?” I asked with a smile.

She chuckled. “You’re Tavy’s best friend. Tavy is Smoke’s kid. We take care of people close to the club.”

“Ah, well I find that very comforting.”

“Good.” She grinned. “Now go on back there and meet everyone.”

When I got outside, I was completely overwhelmed. Though I recognized several of the bikers, there were still a handful who were unfamiliar. And that was nothing compared to seeing the group of women gathered in a circle of chairs, many of whom held babies or were pregnant.

As I looked around, I caught Smoke’s eye. He stood with a few of the South Dakota boys and I almost took a step in his direction. He was clearly the person I was most comfortable with aside from Tavy, but I quickly changed course. If I sought him out, everyone would know something was going on between us.

I also had to be extra careful when Tavy showed up. She’d spot it before anyone.

“Logan!” Willa called out, gesturing to me. “Let me introduce you to everyone.”
