“I’m good, Tav.” I smiled. “Let me heal in my own way, okay?”

She sighed. “Okay. I just don’t want you to think that all men are bastards just because Knox cheated.”

“I don’t think all men are bastards,” I assured her.

“Glad to hear it. When you’re ready to get back on the horse, tell me. I’ll be your wingwoman.”

“I’ll let you know,” I said with a laugh. “This is good pizza.”

“Very good,” she said. “It’s gonna take a while to find all our new spots.”

“Something to look forward to.”

“Yep.”

“Now you,” I said.

“Now me what?” she asked as she got up from her seat and walked into the kitchen.

“Any men on the horizon? Or are you still lusting over bikers you can’t have?”

“Can’t have? I can have anything I want—except soy. Makes my lips itch.”

“Tavy.”

“I know, I know,” she groaned. She opened the pizza box. “Pursuing one of my dad’s biker brothers isn’t a good idea.”

“Definitely not a good idea,” I agreed.

“I just want one night with Raze,” she said as she plopped two pieces onto her plate.

“Not Raze and Kelp?” I teased.

She grinned. “You know, I’m a big talker. I never would’ve gone through with it—even if both of them had been on the table—which I know they’re not. Raze won’t touch me anyway, I know he won’t.”

“Did you ask?”

Tavy snorted and brought her plate back to the living room and sat down. She put a piece of pizza onto my plate before replying, “Did I ask? No. I know what he’d say, and I’m not really in the mood for rejection. It would just make it weird. So I flirt and make sure to wear really tight jeans around him—and I definitely make sure my dad isn’t anywhere in the vicinity so he can’t see what’s going on.”

“You’re a sneak,” I said with a laugh.

“If my dad had a girlfriend, I think that would do a lot for my chances with Raze. If he wasn’t always paying attention to me when I was around, I could go in for the kill.”

“You’re a seductress and a huntress.”

“Damn right. I think I’m going to set Dad up with one of my nurse co-workers.”

The pepperoni in my stomach suddenly felt like a ball of grease.

“Does he want to date?” I asked, hoping I sounded curious instead of jealous.

“I don’t know if he does,” she said.

“Then maybe you shouldn’t butt into his social life.”

She frowned. “I’m not butting in.”

“You’re talking about fixing your father up with someone you work with and you’re not even sure that he’s open to dating someone…”
