“Ice,” I whisper, admiring the way he touches me.

“Yes, Princess?”

“Thank you for tonight. It was perfect. You are perfect.” I slowly turn and lie on my side.

He moves from the end of the bed and crawls in next to me. His arms embracing me, he kisses my lips.

We lie together for several minutes before Ice helps me into a white robe, then slips into one himself. Gathering my costume, I slip it into a small bag.

He leads me out of our room, through the main room of Club Wonderland, and to the elevator. We ride down one floor, then he escorts me to the dressing room. Leaning down, he kisses me one more time.

My arms embrace him as I press my cheek to his firm chest. Feeling his calm heartbeat, I squeeze him tightly, then release him.

He tucks a wayward strand of my long locks behind my ear. Gazing deep into my eyes, he says, “Until next time.”

After my incredible night with Ice, I wake to a note on my bedside table.

Decklan: Had to go into the office early. Hope you have a good day. Love you.

My heart tightens as I sit on the side of the bed. A tear splashes down onto the paper, smearing the ink.

I still don’t trust my husband, but now I’m a cheater too. So how can I sit in judgement of him so harshly?

Maybe being at the office with D all day will bring us closer. Maybe it’ll help me trust him again. I need to work to clear my mind, so I shower and go into the office.

“Hi Julia. What brings you in this morning?” Tim asks as I walk into the lobby of our business.

“Good morning, Tim. I felt like coming in today. Is Decklan in his office?”

“Yeah. Do you want me to buzz him for you?”

“No, thanks. I think I’ll surprise him.” I smile and walk past Tim’s desk and to D’s office.

I rap softly on the door, then reach for the knob. A memory of when I last touched the doorknob and it was locked floods my mind. I stop and catch my breath. What if it’s locked again? What if I catch him cheating again? What the fuck will I do?

I grasp my chest and step back from the door. I shake away the memory and step up to the door, grabbing the knob, I turn it. Relief gushes through me as the knob turns and I open the door to Decklan’s office.

“Hi, Decklan,” I say as I walk inside.

“Julia. Why are you here?” He slams his laptop closed.

Caution fills me, but I shove it aside and walk toward him, taking a seat in one of the chairs opposite him.

“I wanted to come into the office and do some work. I thought we could have lunch together.”

Decklan stands and comes out from behind his desk. He sits in the chair next to me and reaches for my hands. Holding them tight, he says, “I’d love to. It’s been a long time since we did anything together.”

I look into his gorgeous emerald eyes. They sparkle so beautifully, unlike Ice’s arctic blue ones which trapped me in his seductive web. I knew I had to look away from him, or I’d never be able to find my way back to Decklan.

He tugs on my arm, bringing me back to him. “Let’s go to the café across the street. We used to go there a lot.”

“I’d love to.” I smile and gently pull my hands free. “I should go to my office and get to work.” Standing, I caress my husband’s scruffy cheek. “I’ll be ready around noon.”

D stands next to me and says, “It’s a date, Juls.” He walks with me to the door of his office.

I stride the few feet to my office. Before entering, I turn and see D watching me, grinning from ear to ear.

Maybe we can salvage this marriage. I do still love him. But I have to go slow, be cautious before I can trust him completely again with my heart.
