“Hey, man. Table sixteen wants another round.”

“Isn’t that your lady friend, J?” Dave teases.

“Don’t worry about it.” I wave my hand and head to the backroom with the tray of dirty dishes for Tony.

After cleaning the tables and bar area for Dave and George, I grab a broom and a long-handled dustpan. Walking around the restaurant, I pretend to clean. Starting away from Blaire’s table, I keep my eye on her and her friend. I don’t want her to leave without taking my number.

“Jaden,” Dave yells as I approach Blaire’s table.

I glance his way and shake my head quickly. He smiles and nods, then calls me out, “J, be sure to get her number.”

I’m ten shades of red as my eyes meet her blue ones. She smiles wide and slides her chair out. As she turns to stand, she spreads her legs, teasing me. Standing beside her friend, she whispers into her friend’s ear.

Blaire walks toward me, and my dick betrays me. I’m hard as fucking granite as I yank my cotton shirt from the waistband to try and conceal my erection. I act as though nothing below my belt is begging to fuck her and say, “Hey, Blaire. Hope you enjoyed your dinner.”

Her hand lands on my arm, and jolts of electricity fly through me.

“It was the best dinner I’ve ever had. My appetizer made me hungry for more.” Her soft, pink tongue circles her full lips. Holding her hand out, she says, “Here, for you. A thank you for being so attentive this evening.”

I take her hand, and a twenty-dollar bill with a piece of paper lands in mine.

“You’re welcome. Come back soon.” I squeeze her hand and take the cash and paper.

“I will. The service here is the best in town.” She smiles and winks as her hand trails along my arm when she passes by me.

I spin and stare at her unforgettable ass as she leaves The Oasis.

BLAIRE

Lying against Jaden with his arms embracing me, my body ignites for him. I slide my arms around him and hold him tightly as we lie together on the sofa.

Britney’s with her father on their summer vacation. We share custody of our baby girl, switching weeks. Preston and I married after our first year of college. I got pregnant immediately following our honeymoon, but that pregnancy ended in a miscarriage. I threw myself into my education and attended the community college to get my teaching certificate, then took culinary school. I didn’t have big dreams of being a chef; I wanted to teach, and so I did.

I almost left Preston the year before I got pregnant. We were both busy in our careers. It felt like I was married to my friend and not my lover. Then on our anniversary, he surprised me with a fancy dinner, and dancing. We stayed at a high-end hotel. We had incredible sex for hours and I was sure our marriage had turned a corner.

A month later, I woke up puking my guts out and realized my period was late. After work that day, I stopped by the grocery store and bought a home pregnancy test. I’d given up hope of ever having a child after my miscarriage and not getting pregnant for all those years. We never used anything to ever prevent a pregnancy.

Britney Blaire Turner was born a month after I turned the ripe old age of thirty-six.

She’s the absolute joy of my life. Her father, Preston Turner III, is a manager of an insurance firm. He doesn’t sell insurance, just manages all the agents for the owner, Dale Doogle. We all went to high school together. Dale and Preston were best friends. They still are, even though Dale’s hardly ever around; he’s always vacationing somewhere.

As for Preston and me, we tried to make our marriage work for our daughter. He doted on Britney from the moment she was born. I couldn’t have asked for a better father for my daughter. But in the end, his complete attention to our daughter and none on me left me empty. I asked him to talk to me. I thought he was cheating on me; he wasn’t. I asked him to attend marriage counseling and family counseling. He refused and said he was providing a loving home for me and Britney. It felt more like an empty shell to me. Our sex life dissipated quickly, and I couldn’t stay. I needed to have a fulfilled life and that meant a man who wanted me emotionally and physically, not just as a mother to his child.

Leaving was the hardest decision of my life. I don’t know why we dragged it out as long as we did. But in the end, it was the best decision for all of us. Preston and I are better as friends who co-parent. Britney is thriving with our every other week arrangement. We’re better parents now than when we were a married couple. It was a mutual and friendly divorce.

Jaden squeezes me tight, bringing me back to our reality. Several minutes pass before I release him and sit upright next to him. Brushing his scruffy cheek, I smile as I gaze into his amazing blue eyes. I quiver when his hands cup my face and gently tugs me to him.

Before I can speak, his mouth smothers mine. His soft tongue dives between my lips and I welcome him. With my arms around him again, I kiss him with every bit of passion I have for him.

When our sultry kiss ends, he stands and offers me his hand. I can’t deny him. Placing my hand in his, I stand next to him.

He leads me up the stairs and to my bedroom. Jaden walks us to my bed and takes a seat on the end. He draws me to him, his hands resting on my hips as I drape my arms over his broad shoulders. He opens his mouth to speak, and I place my index finger there.

Shaking my head, I lean into him and kiss him. My heart drums wildly, my clit pulsates, my lips drip. I ache for him to be inside of me. I need Jaden Lugo.

His hands grab the hem of my silk top, and he lifts it over my head. His eyes sparkle as he reaches around behind me and unhooks my silk bra. Sliding it down my arms, he licks his lips, then tosses the bra. Jaden cups my breasts with his soft hands, leaning toward me, his mouth captures the right one, as he fondles the left. My nipples stiffen, electric pulses wander all through my body. My head sways as I lean into him.
