The three of them start down the hallway to the kitchen.

I look down at Danielle. She’s watching them go with so much love in her eyes I can’t help but lean over and kiss her.

"Crew’s good," I say. "The kid whisperer."

"He is," she says affectionately. She looks up at me. "They really don’t care whose baby this is, do they?"

I’m surprised she asked. I shake my head. "They really don’t, Danielle. This baby is all of ours. In every way it matters."

Her hand goes to her stomach, cupping the bulge there. "I can’t believe I ended up with you three. I have no idea how I got so lucky."

"Well, it has a lot to do with you being incredible and none of us being able to live without you."

She gives me one of the smiles that she’ll occasionally shoot my way that absolutely steals my breath.

"I love you so much, Nathan."

"I love you too. And I love this life we have."

"I guess it’s good that we’re Cookie and Company. The company can just keep getting bigger," she says as we climb the stairs.

"I guess so. Or we could be Cookie, Company and a Macaron." I grin down at her. "Something sweet and small."

She shakes her head. "We can’t use macarons. That’s Luna’s thing."

"What do you mean?"

"I can tell you. But it would mean you hearing about Luna‘s love life, or specifically her sex life."

"Never mind," I say quickly. "Cookie and Company it is."

CHAPTER 13

Michael

"I’ve got her," I tell Nathan and Crew as I look down at Dani.

She’s asleep on the couch, curled up with her head on a pillow, covered in a throw blanket Crew drew over her a little while ago.

"If you take her up to bed, we’ll clean up down here," Crew says.

I scoop her up into my arms. Her eyelids flutter open. When she sees me, she gives me a sleepy smile and loops her arm around my neck. "Hi," she says softly.

"Let’s go up to bed," I tell her.

"Okay." She rests her head on my shoulder. But as my foot hits the first step, her head pops up, her eyes wide. "Romeo! Gracie!"

"They’re fine," I tell her, starting up the steps. "Marissa and Mark picked them up a little while ago."

"Oh, no," she groans. "I fell asleep while they were still here?"

"Yes. But so did the kids," I assure her as we hit the first landing.

"They must think I’m a horrible babysitter!"

"They definitely don’t. The kids love you. Marissa and Mark love you. You were wonderful."

"I fell asleep in the middle of taking care of them!"
