I stroke her clit with my hand as I thrust from behind, my pace picking up. She grasps my thigh and presses back against me with each thrust.

I feel her inner muscles start to tighten around me after only a few minutes.

"That’s my girl," I praise. "Are you going to come for me? Already? You gorgeous thing."

"Yes, I’m getting close," she pants.

"Give me your mouth."

She turns her face to me and I seal my mouth over hers and start fucking her faster.

Her sweet pussy starts to pulse around me, and I know she’s on the edge. I circle my finger faster on her clit, pressing harder.

And then she pulls her mouth away from mine, so she can cry out my name. "Michael!"

Her pussy clamps down, and I let myself go, thrusting into her deep and hard. My climax hits, and I empty myself into her.

I hold her as the ripples continue through both of our bodies for a few moments after. I kiss her hair, her cheek, her neck, her shoulder.

She holds on tight to my arm, hugging me against her.

Finally, when we’ve floated back to earth, I pull out and go to the bathroom to clean up. I bring her a warm washcloth and clean her as well. When I re-join her in bed, I don’t bother putting my boxers back on. I just pull her into my arms, again skin on skin, and tuck her against my chest and under my chin.

Right where she belongs.

"You’re giving me my dream life, Cookie," I tell her softly. "Thank you."

She sighs happily. "You never have to thank me for this. I sometimes feel selfish for how great everything is. I’m so happy I sometimes can’t believe it. We’re so lucky."

I kiss her neck. "It’s not luck, baby," I tell her. "We’ve chosen this. We’ve made it work. There are a million reasons and ways for it to fall apart, but the four of us have decided to make it work. Each of us looked at our lives and said ‘yes’ to this."

She’s quiet for a moment, then she turns to her back and looks up at me. "You’re absolutely right. I guess it feels like luck because once we made that decision it felt fast and easy. But we are choosing it, aren’t we?"

"Every day. With every new obstacle and adventure," I say with a nod.

I see her eyes glisten and I frown. "Don’t cry." I cup her cheek. "There’s nothing to worry about. We’re all here. We’re all in."

She nods. "I know. It just hit me that it feels even bigger and stronger this way. The choosing. That’s so much better than luck."

I smile and lean over to kiss her. "So, so much better," I say against her lips.

I hold her as she drifts off to sleep. And I study the rings on her left hand.

There needs to be a third, dammit.

Nathan and I need to have a talk with Crew.

Yes, we all need to make choices about how this relationship and family fit into our lives and our future but he’s a part of this and we’re not letting him go.

And it’s probably time Nathan and I tell him that.

CHAPTER 14

Nathan

A year ago, if I’d been asked to attend a baby shower, I would have paid a million dollars to get out of it. I would have written that check and not thought twice about it, because a baby shower would have been the most obvious display of everything that I would never have—a wife, a child.

That was then.
