“I agree,” I said with a nod. “She’s earned some bonding time with the other children.”

Caleb put his arm around my shoulders, leaned his head down until his lips were right beside my ear, and said in a lower voice, “You’ve earned bonding time as well.”

A shiver of delight went up my spine. “Well, let’s not delay any further.”

He chuckled and nipped my earlobe. “As you wish, my queen.”

Epilogue

After a ton of tests and discussion, it was determined that Lily was not in danger and Leona did know of the curse. She advised that we would just need to keep an eye on her moods as she grew up and help her learn to control them if they did get out of control.

The island hybrids decided to live on clan lands for a month and then return to the island. They didn’t want to give up their home, but did want to learn more about the world they’d been isolated from.

Lily made fast friends with the island hybrid children, and when they came to visit she immediately took her role as princess seriously. She ensured the other children didn’t tease them or bully them and one of the island boys was already enamored with her.

Ezio came over so often that we built a house near ours for him. Dan didn’t seem to mind that we’d basically stolen one of his strongest alphas. In fact, he seemed rather happy to know Ezio was there to help add protection to Lily.

It was also becoming obvious that Ezio and one of the island hybrid women were spending quite a bit of time together and it wasn’t just when he was watching over Lily.

There were always trials and problems, people who still didn’t approve of hybrids and our existence. There was often a fight or battle, but no matter what happened, we had each other.

Lily begged her new fathers to train her and threw herself into the training with determination.

At ten years old, she was already adept at using a shield, and with Mercy’s help had learned the best way to take on a warrior form that utilized her snake form that was the most advantageous. We had no doubt that she would eventually surpass us in her skill. In fact, we were looking forward to it.

“Mama!” Lily yelled, pulling me out of my focus on the computer screen before me.

Closing the laptop, I smiled at the rambunctious ten-year-old. “Yes, Lily?”

“It’s time to go to Nana Jolie’s,” she announced. “Papas already packed up the car with the presents and everything.”

“Okay, let me put my shoes on,” I said, and headed towards the front door with her following close behind.

“Do you think they left the star for me to put on the Christmas tree like I asked?” she asked me softly.

“I’m sure Nana Jolie left the star topper for you just like you asked,” I said with a nod. In fact, I knew it for certain as I’d made sure to text her about it a few days ago.

She squealed and danced in a circle. “Yay!”

“Where’s your brother?” I asked.

“Bran Bran has him,” she answered. “He was being cranky and didn’t want to go into the car seat yet, so he was holding him.”

Of course he was. Branson was the quickest to get wrapped around our children’s fingers.

We headed out to the SUV where all my mates waited. Branson held our tiny three-year-old son, Anthony, in his arms, bouncing him gently and cooing.

“I’m here!” I announced. “Sorry, I got wrapped up in work again.”

Caleb sighed and shook his head. “Weren’t you supposed to not work during the holidays?”

“Well, technically the holiday part doesn’t start until we get to your mom’s,” I said with a shrug.

Branson buckled Anthony into his car seat and climbed in to sit beside him.

I took the passenger seat while Riddick took the driver’s seat. Everyone else piled into the back.

“Ready?” I asked.
