“Yes, it’s in Ella’s car. Give me your keys and I’ll go put it in your truck.”
“Babe, I’ll get it and put it in my truck. You stay here.”
He pecks my lips and walks over to Ella to get her keys and disappears out a back door. Ella winks at me and I join her at the bar. When Declan returns, the whole band joins us.
“Hey, Dec, what’d you figure out with Jay?” Asks Nate.
“He’s staying for the show and he’ll call us next week. He was here last Saturday night too.”
“Well, I guess we should put it all out there tonight. Hope the crowd is full of energy. You should probably keep your good luck charm close.”
I know Nate is referring to me because he smiles in my direction. Nate was the one who helped Declan prepare for his song last week. He’s teased Declan mercifully every chance he’s gotten since.
“Nate, when you find your good luck charm, I hope she kicks your ass.” Declan jokes back.
Since I’m not sure what they are talking about, I break in. “Who’s Jay?”
“He’s a music scout among other things. He works with local and regional music festivals to book the entertainment. He’s been hanging around for awhile. He actually helped get us the gig here. He may have a few opportunities available for us.”
I wrap my arms around his neck. “That’s so exciting! Would you want to do that?”
“Yeah, I think I would. The rest of the band thinks it’s a good idea, but we’ll be selective if given the chance. I’m not sure our style and looks will fit in at every place and we don’t want to change it. We told Jay we’d work with him if he took that into consideration.”
I look back and all three of them are nodding in agreement.
“Babe, we need to get started soon; walk me to the stage?” He grabs my hand and I tell everyone I’ll see them soon.
When we get backstage, I see everything is set up, but there are still a few people running around. He takes me into the dark corner I’ve become familiar with.
“Seriously, Sparkle, I missed you. I’m not sure what you’ve done to me, but I can’t get you out of my mind.”
“The feeling is mutual.” I lean in and kiss him. I don’t stop until I hear someone clear their throat behind us.
Blake looks uncomfortable and I realize I have wrapped one leg around Declan’s hip. “Sorry man, but we need to get started.”
I try to step back, but his hands hold me tight so I can’t. “Kay, B, give me just another minute.”
Blake walks away and I see the other guys getting ready to go onstage. I wonder how long they’ve been there. Then I realize I don’t care. Declan hugs me tightly.
“You know I have a raging hard-on right now. The only thing I can think of is your mouth on me?”
“Sorry, but I can’t do anything about that right now. Maybe later?” I wink at him and pry out of his arms. “I’m going to go meet up with the others. You have a good show.” I kiss him quickly and walk away.
“I’ll get you back for this, tit for tat and all that shit.” He calls after me. I grin and find my way back to my friends.

The show is awesome. The bar is packed again and the energy from the crowd just encourages the guys. During the breaks, the band changes their soaked shirts and returns looking perfectly serene. Jimi and Abbi have gone into the crowd to dance, but I’ve stayed behind because I can see better from back here. We didn’t get the reserved table from last Saturday and I can’t see the band play when I’m in the crowd. Since I know Jay is somewhere around here, I want to watch every minute of Sayge’s performance. They’re playing with an edge tonight I’ve never seen. Each song has a new feel to it. Every once in a while, Declan finds me and winks. It’s not hard to find me with Gabe and Finn towering beside me. I feel his energy emanating to me.
When I’m sure the show is over, I say goodbye to everyone and head backstage. I’m sure Ella will come, but Abbi is pretty content with Jimi so she may stick back. I stop by the bathroom and as I’m washing my hands I hear a few girls behind me.
“If I get him alone, I’m going to give him the best blow job he’s ever had.”
“I heard he likes threesomes. Maybe we should offer that?”
“If Declan Collins wants a threesome, then that’s what he’ll get.”
I feel sick, these girls are disgusting. “I think he has a girlfriend. Didn’t he sing to her last weekend or something?”
