I grabbed my book bag, still pouting as I stopped in front of him. I took the lunch box from him, finally breaking my pout. “Thank you for making this,” I said.

“You’re welcome,” he said, grinning down at me with that confident smirk of his.

“Are you sure I can’t just be a little late?” I asked, batting my eyelashes at him.

He laughed, leaning down to graze those lips over mine. “No,” he said, the word primal. “But when you get home?” He trailed a finger over my collarbone, then lower. “I will make good on what we started here today.”

“Promise?” I asked, breathless from his innocent touch.

“Promise,” he said, and he sealed that with a kiss.
