“Of course,” he rumbled soothingly. “Of course not. But we want what’s best for you.”

At that, Katy stood angrily, hands on hips while shooting us death glares.

“Oh really?” she asked sarcastically. “So why did you clear out of the hotel room without a goodbye? Leaving me like a dirty groupie who meant nothing to you? Letting Helena,” she spat, “do your dirty work.”

The three of us exchanged shamed glances because everything Katy was saying was true. But there was a reason for it.

“Sweetheart,” I began again.

“Don’t sweetheart me,” she spat once more. “Don’t even try it.”

I nodded thoughtfully.

“Honey, I mean, Katy,” came my apologetic voice. “We did what we did for a very specific reason. And it had nothing to do with your pregnancy. If we’d known you were having our child, there’s no way we would have left.”

The brunette waited, hands on her hips, chin determined.

“And?”

“Well,” drawled Mason slowly. “We did what we did because we wanted what’s best for you. To have a normal life with a husband who adores you and dozens of kids in the backyard. You can’t have that with us,” he said, gesturing to the luggage strewn around the hotel room, the obvious signs of constant travel. “We’re rock stars, and we jet around the world constantly. You deserve more than that.”

nbsp; But Katy shot us a disgusted glance.

“You’re hiding behind travel?” she asked in a disbelieving voice. “That’s why you dumped me?”

“We didn’t dump you,” I said quickly. “Again, it’s all for your own good.”

The brunette really snapped then.

“Don’t patronize me,” she said angrily, fire shooting from her eyes. “What do you mean, it’s all for my own good? And don’t start up with that ‘We’re rockstars and travel a lot bullshit.”

Her attitude should have riled us up but all it did was make us want her more. Because this was our girl, filled with sass and fire, a true equal to the three men who adored her. And eyes filled with emotion, I spoke again.

“Sweetheart,” I said, ignoring her warning glance. “You deserve better than us. Better than this,” I said, gesturing at the messy hotel room. “You deserve a man who worships the ground you walk on. A man who will take you to heaven and back, just because he loves you so much. A man who will make your every dream come true because that’s what rocks his boat.”

She was silent for a moment, eyeing us warily.

“And that’s not you?”

Oh shit. The million dollar question was here. We should have lied, but we couldn’t. Not when the stakes were so high.

“Sweetheart,” began Trent slowly. “We adore you, but there’s three of us. You’ll be surrounded by scandal non-stop. People will talk when you walk in the room, and not because we’re rockstars. But because you’re in a relationship with three guys. Short-term means nothing, honey, the months you spent with us were the happiest of our lives. But long-term? That’s a different story. Are you ready for the tabloids to label you as a whore? A slut? A woman who’s with three men?”

And that’s where we underestimated Katy. Because the brunette looked at us again, eyes searching.

“Don’t you know me by now?” she asked softly. “I’m not afraid of anything. Not with my men by my side.”

And that’s when we knew the game was over. Because our girl is everything we dreamed of, and yet so much more. Our girl was willing to take a chance on a life with us, non-traditional and gossip-ridden. But also satisfying, fulfilling, and filled with light and love. Who knew that this would happen? That our brave, bold and beautiful Katy would make us so happy, holding our hearts in her hands.

“Are you sure?” I rasped, the words coming from the bottom of my soul. “Are you sure Kitty Kat because once you say yes, there’s no going back.”

I could sense Trent and Mason nodding beside me, emotion high in their chests.

And slowly, a beautiful smile broke over her face.

“Yes, Nick. Yes, Trent. Yes, Mason. I can do it. I can handle it. I want to be with you because I love you, and because you love me too. We can do anything if we stay together.”
