"What are you leaving on?" The answer was almost as important as what she was taking off.

"That's the surprise." She winked at him as she opened the screen door. "Meet me in the bedroom in five minutes."

"Sweeter words have never been spoken."

She laughed. "You are so full of it."

"And you love it."

Her smile flattened and her eyes lost that teasing glint. "I do."

She meant it. For the first time in both of their lives, they both did. There was no better moment then right now.

He reached into his pocket and took out the engagement ring that had been in his family for generations.

"Enough to say yes?" He lowered down to one knee. He'd been carrying the diamond ring around for the past two weeks, but the timing just never seemed right. Since he'd joined the B-Squad as an official member, he'd been working case after case. Tamara had been right, they'd needed him. Just like he'd needed her. This sure as hell wasn't where he'd expected to be a few months ago, but he was damn glad to be here. "The day we met I promised I'd only lead you true. In reality, it was you who showed me exactly where I needed to be…here with you. I love you Tamara Post. Will you marry me?"

The smile was back, bigger than ever. "Yes."

He slid the ring on her finger and gathered her up in his arms. When he kissed her this time it wasn't for today or tomorrow. It was for forever and everything that went with it. Kids. Family. The whole crazy mess.

When they finally broke apart, his first instinct was to pick her up caveman-style and take her into the house before the neighbors got one hell of a show. She had other ideas. She handed him his beer and took her wine glass, holding it up in a toast.

"To no more sad stories," she said, her voice shaking with emotion.

He sat down his beer and took her in his arms, knowing he'd never let her go. "Only happy endings."
