I groan thinking about how a pregnant Piper is at work. Life would be crazy and full of food cravings and pillows stacked in the office when Piper goes narcoleptic and falls asleep at two in the afternoon like clockwork. Honestly, I wouldn’t trade my friend’s happiness in the world.
“Well, then he’s a perfect match for my best friend.”
“Speaking of which, I offered to take the kids for them for the weekend.”
“You did?”
“I did.”
I groan out loud. I love those kids, heck I’m a godparent and Uncle to them all, but watching four kids plus our two was a circus on a good day.
“I love you, Diana.”
“I know. I figured this would be good practice, daddy. Bring you back to training camp.” She says.
“Practice for what?” I hold her back to look into her eyes.
“Well, we don’t know yet if Piper is cooking baby number five, but I’m definitely cooking number three.”
“What? Are you serious?”
“I am. I think we’re going to finally have to upgrade the Audi.”
“Oh my god, this is awesome.” I shout twirling her around carefully putting her feet back on the ground holding her close to me. The car could become an airport bus for all I cared.
“Yeah, it is isn’t it?” Her voice shakes. I do the only thing I can; I kiss her soundly and let the wetness in my eyes fall for what they are. Tears of happiness.
My wife is having a baby and life is pretty damn good.
“Eww grown up kisses.” Coco shrieks chasing after Maisy who sings K-I-S-S-I-N-G.
