Leah falls on top of my desk with a loud gasp. Her thighs quiver as I part her other pair of lips so my tongue can slip in and out of her, coating itself in more of her sweet nectar. It’s intoxicating, addicting, but I force myself to abandon it so I can focus on her ultimate pleasure button.

The moment my tongue brushes against that nub, she lets out a cry. Her fingers grip my hair. I tease that nub until she’s shaking all over. I know she’s almost at the brink, which is good because I think I’m near mine.

All of a sudden, Leah pushes me away. She looks at me with teary eyes.

“I want you,” she tells me breathlessly.

It’s a plea I can’t ignore. I take off my belt as fast as I can. I take out my aching cock and push it inside her.

As I fill her inch by inch, Leah moans, only stopping when I’m completely inside her. I pause only a moment to catch my breath before I start to move. Slowly. I know I’m close, but I want to savor this as long as I can. I want her to enjoy it as much as she can.

She lifts herself off the table and wraps her hands around the back of my neck. Her mouth meets mine for a passionate kiss.

I kiss her back fiercely and pick up the pace. She falls back on my desk and lets out soft cries as I pound into her. Her velvety skin clings to me with each thrust.

Suddenly, Leah clenches me. A loud cry escapes her lips as she trembles even harder than before. I manage a few more thrusts before spilling myself deep inside her. My grunts mingle with her gasps for air.

For a moment afterward, I stay still, staring at Leah as she chases after her breath on my desk. Her cheeks are aflame. Tears glisten on her lashes. Slowly, her eyes flutter open, and as the haze of pleasure fades from them, she gives me a tender smile.

Warmth floods my chest.

I pull my spent cock out of her and tuck it in so I can go around my desk to plant a kiss on her forehead. Her hand goes to my neck and pulls me in for another lip lock. Her fingers slip beneath my collar and caress my skin as her other hand strokes my cheek.

Then she pulls away abruptly. Eyes filled with concern and confusion stare back at me as she sits up.

“You have a scar on your nape.”

I put a hand over it. “Yes. It’s from childhood.”

She gapes.

Has she realized what it’s from?

“It was a long time ago,” I tell her as I zip up my pants. “Nothing to worry about.”

Still, she looks upset, scared even.

I touch her cheek. “Are you alright?”

Leah nods as she puts her bra back on.

Why doesn’t she look alright, then?

“Sure?” I stroke her hair.

She jumps off my desk. “I just feel tired suddenly, I guess.”

She bends her knees to pick up her dress, but it slips from her fingers. I pick it up and hand it to her.

“Thanks,” she mumbles before putting it on.

I fasten my belt.

“You should go home and rest,” I tell her once she’s dressed. “You look pale.”

Strange. Weren’t her cheeks burning red just a moment ago?

“I will,” Leah says as she slips her flip flops on. “And you should get back to work.”

I glance at my desk. That’s going to prove a challenge.

“Sorry for disturbing you,” Leah adds.

I tuck my hands into my pockets and shake my head. “You weren’t.”

She nods and walks to the door.

“Leah,” I call after her.

She stops.

I don’t know why I called her. I just felt like I wanted to say something. Thank you? It was nice seeing you? No. Those words aren’t quite right.

“Take care,” I say instead. “I’ll see you later.”

She glances over her shoulder to give me a weak smile. Then she goes on to leave.

I sit on the edge of my desk. As I run my fingers over the mahogany, I can’t help but smile.

I thought I’d never be able to forgive myself for what happened to Nadine. I thought I’d never heal. And yet, with just a few words spoken in genuine concern and a few gentle caresses, Leah has made it possible.

I’m beginning to think every good thing is possible.

Chapter Fifteen

Leah

Impossible.

I tell myself the word for the hundredth time as I pace my bedroom.

I started saying it as soon as I felt that scar on Gavin’s neck beneath my fingers. As the feeling of deja vu swept over me, a voice inside my head whispered that Gavin could be the father of my child- to which I answered, “Impossible.”

I told myself the word over and over in the car. I mean, the story sounds like something that could only happen in the movies- a woman gets pregnant by accident and sells herself to a man who turns out to be her child’s father. How ridiculous is that?
