“No one to take your fancy here?”

Jamie laughed at my question whilst she just rolled her eyes.

“Not really, but there is someone looking for you. She came over here a while ago asking if you were still around. She looked important.”

“Did you get here name?”

“It was different and exotic and I had no chance at remembering it, but she did say she’d drop by again later.”

Stranger things have happened.

“What do you want to drink, baby?” Jamie crouched next to me.

“Ummm…”

“Baby? Baby.” She cringed, “Seriously? You couldn’t think of anything better?”

He looked at her with a smile, “You really don’t want to know the other things I call her, baby sister.”

She stuck two fingers in her mouth like she was gagging. “You’re an arsehole. A gross arsehole.”

She gave an exaggerated cackle as she threatened to push him over with just a finger.

I eyed a waiter carrying a bright green cocktail and pointed at it, “I want one of those.”

“It looks toxic.”

“It’s called a Japanese Slipper and it’s really rather good once you get past the colour.” Willow said as she patted his dark coifed hair that was starting to tousle at the top.

“Right, well, one Slipper coming up and a water for you?”

“I’ll just stick with the rum thank you very much.”

“Coke? Mix it a little?”

“Jamie, if you suggest I ruin perfectly good rum with shitty Coke again, I’m going to disown you.”

“Alright, Miss Alcoholic.” He said as he bent down and kissed the top of my head. “I’m going for a smoke before I order the drinks. Do you want to come?”

“I’m fine.” I replied as I brushed his hair back.

“Yeah, she’s fine. Smoking kills, arsehole.” She sassed as he started to walk away.

He turned around still walking backwards as he said, “So does straight rum, but you’re still drinking it.” And then he turned back and walked off.

“Rum doesn’t kill, dickhead.” She said sourly under her breath.

“So, are you going to tell me what’s wrong or am going to have to drag it out of you?”

She tipped her glass back and emptied it.

“I really am fine; it’s just been one of those days in one of those weeks.”

“Come on, you’ve got to give me more than that.” I nudged her black lace covered knee with my red velvet covered one.

“Seriously, I’m just feeling off. I’m probably coming down with something, I heard there’s Scarlet Fever going around.”

“Nice try, but firstly, if you had Scarlet Fever you’d know about it and secondly, it’s a paediatric ailment, so you do the maths on that one.”
