My arm and leg throb from the way I fell and as I jostle on his shoulder, I can’t get enough breath to scream. All I can do is watch as darkness swallows the dim light from the platform with his sprint.
It’s then that Leo’s words finally sink in.
You’re walking around with a big fucking bullseye on your head.

Don’t make it easy for them.

It’s too late to listen now. My time might be up.

Chapter 13
Leo
I can’t wait to get the fuck out of here as I put my shirt back on and button it up. Most of the people left are either too drunk or off their fucking nut, and that’s asking for trouble.
“I thought it was nothing.” Casper laughs as we stand waiting for the girls to get back. “It doesn’t look like it though. Whatever it is you and Cassie have going looks like something.”
Looking up at him, I can’t lie. He knows it too with the way he’s looking at me.
“It wasn’t anything then.”
“Yeah, of course. Every fucking guy throws a girl over his shoulder and stomps off with her for no fucking reason.”
“What do you want?”
“Me?” Laughing he crosses his arms over his chest. Standing in that way that makes him look like the GI Joe he is. “I don’t want shit. But she does.”
Fleur is making a beeline for us as Arabella heads straight for Christopher, and I know what’s coming before she even looks at me.
“Fuck.” Groaning, I search behind her for Cassie. When I don’t find her, my chest tightens and my feet start carrying me towards the makeshift toilet.
“Oh shit. Where are you going?” Casper chuckles as she stops in front of me with fight burning in her eyes.
I try to move around her but she steps with me, blocking my way.
“Hey, big man.”
I can tell she’s been dying for this moment.
“Where’s Cassie?”
“In the toilet,” she says sarcastically. “But now that we have a moment…”
Hurry up! I think as she takes a deep breath.
“Don’t. Fucking. Hurt. Her.”
Waiting for her to carry on, I flicker my eyes between her and the entrance to the toilet.
