“Thanks, Fernando,” I murmured as he opened the car door for me. Feeling spoiled I enjoyed the ride inside the SUV. Fernando didn’t look like a talker and I wasn’t good at starting conversations so I just let silence fall between us.

“Fernando, can we stop here?” I asked when we passed my favorite bakery.

“That baking shop, ma’am?” he asked, parking the car in front of it when I nodded.

“I can buy whatever you want, Miss Crown,” he said, getting out of the car after me, but I shook my head, “No. I’ll do it myself. Thank you!”

“Hey, Lena,” I waved.

“Welcome, Mel. What do you want me to give you today?” she asked, “Give me a minute, I’m coming. Jeez,” she added when someone called out for her from the kitchen.

“Busy day, hmm?”

“I can’t complain, but sometimes I really want to take a break,” she groaned, “Anyway, do you want me to surprise you?” she asked like I always wanted her to do.

“Give me two cinnamon rolls, four pancakes first, and add whatever else is new,” I told her. She always had new things up her sleeve, and her recipes never disappointed.

“Give me the head count and I’ll prepare your package,” she winked at me.

“Two… I think, and another box for one person only, please” I wasn’t sure if there would be another person in the house, but I wanted to give a box to Fernando.

“Coming right up,” she said and started to fill the box with all the goodies.

No matter how hard it was, I finally left the delicious scent of the bakery and let Fernando take me to Kellan.

“Thanks, Fernando. This is for you,” I handed him his box when I got out of the car.

“Oh… thank you, Miss Crown,” he smiled at me. He was a cute guy with a Latin accent, he just didn’t give me enough chance to hear him talk.

“Enjoy,” I waved, heading toward the house.

I was excited as I stood in front of the door. Knocking on the door, I waited, breathing deeply to calm my nerves.

“Finally,” Kellan opened the door, looking at me from head to toe, “You didn’t take my suggestion about clothing I see,” he chuckled.

“I did better, I brought lots of things to eat,” I smirked, passing him. He was right behind me, though, helping me out of my coat. I tensed when I felt his breath on my neck, “Mmm, smells delicious,” he whispered.

“Kellan…” I breathed out.

“Fuck! It’s so hard to remember that you’re my employee when you’re around,” he groaned.

That makes two of us, Kellan, I thought.

It was easy to control myself when he was grumpy, but when he was playful and seductive like this I didn’t trust myself. Turning to face him I was hoping to put some distance between us. But he took my breath away with his simple hotness in his dark jeans and white t-shirt. His tee had paint stains on it, but even that looked stylish.

“Were you painting?” I asked, catching him off guard.

“Yeah, why?” he asked, but then he must have remembered the t-shirt, he laughed, “This is the third t-shirt this week.”

I gasped when he took his t-shirt off, revealing his muscled torso and tattoos. Trying to keep my eyes on his face, I noticed another stain on his cheek.

“You have paint on your cheek, too,” I laughed.

“Where?” he said, making it bigger. His cheek turned to neon yellow as he rubbed it.

“Wait, you’re making it worse,” I said, getting a wet wipe from my bag and cleaned his face.

“We should fuck again,” he whispered.
