Patient name: Michael Harrison

What? Mike’s last name was Harrison?! Was it coincidence?

“Harley! Come to my office. Now!”

I heard William’s voice. He must have roared if I could hear him from his office. I was grateful for it, though. I put the files inside the safe in panic.

Key!

Fuck!

I threw the key into the drawer and rushed out from the office towards the back exit. The moment I opened the big door of the back exit, William must have come in the hallway, he called out for me.

“Angel?”

Closing the door before I turned to look at him, I waved awkwardly, “Hey, Will.”

He frowned, probably at my fake smile, but his features changed as his eyes roamed my body.

“What are you doing here?”

“There was nobody here when I came to the club and I got bored. I was taking a walk,” I answered him. I let my voice come out sultry to distract him. He hummed, but didn’t say anything before going into his office with Harley behind him.

The door I was leaning opened behind me and I stumbled backward with a shriek.

“Easy, Cupcake!” Mike whispered to my ear. His arms wrapped around me from behind and I was flushed to his body.

“Mike,” I whispered. Panic and excitement rose in me. The combination was not normal. I should have steered clear of him but my mind didn’t work that way.

Michael Harrison. Patient of an asylum. Possibilities.

These words were chanting in my mind as a warning. But my body was reminiscing the night before, remembering his body onto me, in me; the way his lips kissed me roughly. And all warnings turned into a seductive demand.

“Mmm… I like it when you whisper my name that way. But I would prefer louder… much, much louder,” Mike nuzzled on my neck. His words and his Southern accent were affecting my body, no matter the mere possibility of him being dangerous. Maybe even that possibility had a magnetic pull on me. I shook my head, trying to clear my head.

I let out a giggle and tried to free myself from his grip.

“Someone will see, Mike. Let me go,” I said.

“You didn’t worry about that before,” he said, taking my earlobe between his teeth. He was right.

He ruined the last girl and his eyes already found another target.

Will’s words came back to me with full force and I ripped myself from Mike’s hold.

“Whoa! What’s wrong? I thought we were coming to some terms here,” Mike smirked at me. The first time since I started to work in the club, I saw something malicious in his gaze; something dark. It should have terrified me and it did, but also, it excited me. I wanted to dig deeper into that darkness.

“Mike!”

Will’s tense voice came behind me. Was that a warning behind his voice?

“Hi, b-” he stopped in the middle of his word and looked at me before continuing with a simple “boss.”

I heard Will clear his throat behind me, but I couldn’t take my eyes away from Mike. A part of me was waiting for him to do something, anything, because of his daring eyes.

“We’ll open the doors in an hour. Angel, do your rehearsal,” Will said and I turned towards him, but his eyes were focused on Mike.
