Stephanie places her palms flat on the desk and pushes herself up to stand. “Maybe we can come to a little arrangement.”
She saunters around the desk and comes to a stop right in front of me before she bends forward and places her hands on each arm of the chair. She looks up at me with big brown eyes and a devious smirk on her lips, and her tongue darts out, slowly licking across her lips.
“I want you, Julian. I worked long and hard to get the Board of Directors to finally offer you this position. Now that I have you, I won’t let you go. I’ll do whatever it takes to make you happy.”
She sinks to her knees in front of me and drags her hands down my knees. Stephanie is an attractive woman, but desperation rolls off her in waves.
“I’m sorry, but I make it a point to never get involved with my colleagues,” I say.
“I’m sure you can make an exception just this once.” She sits up and leans forward, running her hands up my thighs to the waistband of my trousers, then reaching out to grasp my belt buckle between her fingers.
Just as I’m ready to push her away, I hear a knock on her door, and someone turns the knob to enter.
“Oh, Christ,” I mutter when I see the first flash of brilliant blue.
