“Andi, that’s not it at all.”
We stare at each other for a few moments in silence. I search for some way to explain to her how much I want her, crave her, but that I just can’t do that to my best friend.
“Save it, Mr. Archer.” Her voice sounds hollow. “I’m sorry to have troubled you. Ivy wanted more information about her position in the movie. I’ll tell her to contact Rebekah and set up a time to discuss things with you.”
Without another word, she spins around and heads for the door, but not before I’m able to grasp her arm.
“Wait, Andi. Please don’t leave like this. Nothing has to change between us.”
She doesn’t even turn around before responding. “Everything has changed between us, Nolan. If you don’t recognize that, you’re even dumber than I thought.”
With that, she wrenches her arm from my grasp and heads out the door.
I stand in place for a few moments before shouting into the empty room.
“FUCK!” I slam both my hands on the hardwood conference table, the sting permeating up my arms.
I have to shoot a movie, make sure my star doesn’t get outed to the press, and keep my dick in my pants. No, there isn’t anything hard about that, is there?
Of course there is, because that little girl is going to be trouble.
