“What would the lucky guy like?” Ollie huffed out a laugh.

“Three beers, please. And maybe your number?”

Ollie’s eyes widened as she opened the beers, “Wow,I’malso lucky tonight.”

“I’m going to take all of that sarcasm as a no.”

“And he’s adept at reading sarcasm. Youmightbe my dream man.”

“Really? My luck skyrocketed,” Jackson snorted and Ollie rolled her eyes again.

“Three beers, anything else?”

“A coffee?”

Ollie shook her head, “We don’t serve coffee.”

“Would you like to go out and drink some?”

She gave him a flat stare, “You’re serious.”

“As a heart attack.”

“Those are quite dangerous.”

Jackson chuckled, “So you could save me the trouble and say yes.”

“But I hate coffee,” Ollie shrugged.

“I’m sorry, I thought I heard you say youhatecoffee?”

“Yeah, it makes me sick.”

“How can anyone hate coffee?”

Ollie stopped what she was doing and glared at him, “The same way someone can love it.”

“It’scoffee.”

“Jackson.”

“Oleander.”

“Don’t say my whole name like that.” Ollie frowned at him and Jackson held his hands up.

“Let me buy you a non-coffee, somewhere outside of here and I’ll call you whatever you want.”

“Why?” Ollie was genuinely confused.

Jackson looked perplexed as he leaned against the bar, “Why does anyone ask a person out for coffee or non-coffee?”

“Fuck if I know. I don’t get asked out for coffee.”

“Would you prefer it if we weren’t drinking at all?” Jackson tilted his head.

“I would prefer it if you weren’t asking me out.”

“Why not?”
