“Jackson?”

He nodded, still smiling. “Yes, Oleander?”

“Will you let me loveyoufor the rest of your life?”

Jackson frowned. “No.”

“Why not?”

“This ismydeclaration. You can’t hijack it.”

Ollie rolled her eyes. “It’s not an official proposal.”

“Then what was that?”

“A promise?”

“Are you not sure what that was supposed to be?”

She shrugged. “It was a reflex. I didn’t want to feel like I didn’t bring anything to this…declaration.”

“It’s not a potluck.”

“So…”

Jackson made a face. “Ugh.”

Ollie laughed and moved forward. His face lit up as he stepped closer and slid an arm around her waist. “I love you, Jackson Huxley.”

“Damn right you do,” he grinned and dipped his head to kiss her. Ollie wound her arms around his neck and kissed him back, moaning softly against his mouth as his tongue brushed over her bottom lip. Ollie’s fingers curled into Jackson’s hair as she pressed herself closer, his arms tightening around her waist.

“Forfudge’ssake, there are children here!” Frankie’s laughter filled voice burst through the space and Ollie broke the kiss to groan, pressing her face into Jackson’s chest.

“Thank you, trouble, for ruining this wonderful moment,” Jackson chuckled.

Frankie took a bow. “You are most welcome. If you two are done, I’d like to get my grub on.”

Jackson still had his arms wrapped around her, but he nodded at Niles, who whistled really loudly. All the food trucks started opening up their service windows and everyone who had come out to support them scattered to go get their food. Ollie nuzzled into Jackson, her arms moving around his waist as she inhaled the scent of him.

Their relationship had gone through every stage at this point and she was impressed with how far they’d come and where their relationship was going. In her arms was the only man she could see herself marrying.

And the crazy part was, Ollie didn’t even know she wanted to get married until Jackson was telling her he hoped it would happen one day.
