“Are you sure you’re ready for this?”
“As ready as I’ll ever be, smart ass,” Jackson told her with a laugh.
Ollie smirked and read the note. “Jackson is, in short, a good person. He’s kind, generous, honest, charming, but also incredibly awkward and shy. He’s careful and open, he’s understanding and patient. He’s also absolutely dreamy.”
“Dreamy, huh?”
“Hush.” Ollie waved him off, smiling as she continued reading. “Jackson doesn’t know it, but he’s the kind of person everyone wishes they had in their lives. As a friend, as a lover, as everything. I hope these help you create something magical, Niles, because I’m not always good with words, but maybe you can help me make himfeelhow being with him makes me feel.”
Setting her phone in her lap, Ollie looked up and found Jackson staring at her.
“You think that much of me?”
“And then some.”
“Oleander.” His voice was shaky and she bit her lip as she watched him. “You are incredible.”
She blushed, shaking her head as she toyed with her phone, unable to meet his eyes because it was a lot. She hadn’t intended for everything to come out, but she was glad she said what she felt for him.
“You,” he whispered, moving closer on the bench, “are everything I never thought I could have. You know the movieWeird Science, where they create their perfect woman on a computer and she comes to life? You’re the kind of woman I’ve created in my head for years and being with you made me realize it.”
“YouWeird Science’d me?”
Jackson laughed. “In a way, I guess I did. I didn’t even realize I was looking for a woman who was stubborn, sassy, sexy and smart, but also someone who is confident, honest, beautiful, funny, sexy and keeps me on my toes.”
“You said sexy twice.”
“Damn right, I did, because you are. You are so incredibly sexy, I hope you remember that forever. I don’t think I’ve met a single woman who is everything that you are.”
Instead of answering, Ollie leaned forward and kissed Jackson. Her hands moved to either side of his face and she smiled into the kiss before pulling back to look at him. “Let’s go home.”
