“Is that why you’re still there at…” There was some rustling on the other end, “Close to 11pm?”

“Yes,” Ollie cleared her throat. “Was there a reason you called?”

“We found you a boy.”

Ollie groaned and started to pace, fingers pinching the bridge of her nose. “Another one?”

“He is very handsome, very wealthy, fair and also very tall.” Baby ignored Ollie’s tone of frustration and went on. “He works at NASA.”

“So he’s in Houston.” Ollie sighed.

“We’ve got lots of family in Houston. And you like space!”

Ollie waved at Joey, needing an escape from this call. But the idiot smiled and shook his head.

“I used to like space, when I was achild.”

Baby hummed and continued, “He’s going to be in Wilmington next week and I have told your mother to set up a meeting.”

“Okay, Ammachi, I’ll speak with mom.”

“You know I only want you to be happy.” She said it in an annoyingly sweet tone Ollie hated. “I would also like to see you get married before I die.”

“You’ve been saying that since I was 21. It doesn’t work on me anymore.”

“One can only hope.” Baby said in Malayalam, making Ollie laugh. Like always, without saying ‘goodbye’, she hung up and Ollie put her phone away with a groan.

“Here you go, beautiful.” Joey slid a tray over and wiped his hands. “Come back in an hour and I’ll get you another tray.”

Ollie smirked at Joey, “How about in an hour you take a break and we slip out for a bit?”

“Get outta here! Don’t distract the kid from his job.” Harry called out from the front of the kitchen. Ollie laughed and she used her hip to push open the door.

She’d only gottena few steps out of the kitchen when someone bumped into her and made the tray wobble, dropping a few of the glasses to the floor in a loud crash. “Watch where you’re going!”

“Shit, I’m so sorry.”

Ollie straightened the tray, growling as her heart raced and made note of the fact she’d lost only a few glasses. She set the tray on the counter closest to her and bent down to gather up the bigger pieces. “Please step back so I can clean this up.”

Male hands reached for the glass shards, “Let me help.”

“Sir, please…” she lifted her head, groaning quietly when she recognized the guy. “You, again.”

He smiled wide, “I feel like now is not the right time to say ‘hello’.”

“And yet, you did. Seriously, return to your table. I’ll get this cleaned up.”

“I don’t mind, it’s the least I can do.” His hands were moving around in her periphery and Ollie bit back a huff of frustration.

“Be careful, there are some really tiny pieces that could—”

“Ah fuck!” He cursed. Ollie’s head snapped up and she noticed the blood dripping from his hand.

“Why couldn’t you just do what I told you?”

“Are you seriously giving me shit for trying to help you?”

Narrowing her eyes at him, Ollie nodded, “Yes! Because I told you not to help me. Now, you’re bleeding everywhere and that’s another thing to add to my list.”
