It feels warm and comfortably soft, with his lingering spicy, masculine
smell that makes me feel safe as if he is around me.
I close my room door shut, before heading into Lex’s room and we lock the door before getting into the bed.
“Do you think we’ll be okay?” I ask Lex as I snuggle up next to her.
“If anyone ever tries to harm you, I will cut their nuts off,” she jokes, trying to lighten the atmosphere.
I chuckle. “What if it’s a woman?”
“Well, I seriously doubt it, but you know, she can kiss her vag goodbye too.”
“I love you,” I whisper as she switches the side lamp off.
“I love you too, babe,” she whispers back and kisses my forehead.
I stay awake for hours even though I have classes and work later that morning. Lex snores beside me, but I’m glad for it even though I’d normally die and run out of the room.
My eyes feel heavy and my body is tired from the day. I find myself going in and out of sleep throughout the early hours of the morning having a nightmare of a man breaking in and then him morphing into Hudson with blood all over his hands telling me that he’s sorry and that he never meant for it to go this far and then me falling and sobbing so hard for some reason. My chest hurt as if something bad had happened. Things get really blurry after that.
Lex leaves early and doesn’t try waking me up even though I am already awake.
The alarm finally goes off and I find myself laying in bed with a sheen of sweat covering my body and the t-shirt soaked as weak, grey light streams in.
My heart pounds loudly in my ears and my eyes feel the burn from loss of sleep.
I pick up my phone and head into my chat with Hudson. I need to sleep, but I’m not going to sleep in here. Not alone.
Can I come over?I type in the message box and press send.
My mouth is dry and I’m reaching for my bottle of water when my phone pings with one new text.

I don’t have the energy to explain everything to him, so I just type:
