CHAPTER THREE

Liam

The waitress at the diner was quite beautiful, and I knew she would make my job a whole lot easier if that meant getting those girls off of my back. Her long, curly blonde hair fell around her butt, and her eyes were a vibrant green color, it made me wonder at one point if she had been wearing contacts. She was fairly tall for most women I see, with fair, porcelain-like skin and a curvy body that even her baggy-ish clothing couldn’t even hide.

She would make an ideal partner.

“How would you feel about marrying me?”

It was a simple enough question, I’m not sure where I went wrong with her, but her widened eyes and shocked expression told me that I had gone down the wrong path. It didn’t make quite a sense to me, but who am I to argue with it?

“What?” She squeaked out, glancing around nervously, “Is this some kind of prank, sir?”

I was confused once again, “and why would it be a prank?”

“We don’t even know each other!” She protested, taking a step back, pulling her hand out of mine, “I-”

“Hold on a minute!” I quickly cut her off, rolling my eyes, “I don’t want to really marry you, girl, I just need your help.”

Now she looked a little curious, “my help with what?”

I could feel eyes watching us, and it unsettled me. My palm practically itched with the urge to reach for my gun and scare them away from looking at me, but that probably wouldn’t be the right thing to do even if I wanted to. I sighed in annoyance.

“Do you get off soon?” I asked her, just wanting to get this over with.

She hesitantly looked over her shoulder, but ended up admitting, “yes, soon.”

“I’ll be waiting here to speak with you.” I muttered coldly, turning back to my food, “thank you.”

She quickly walked away as if there was a dog on her heels. I watched the swaying of her hips, seeing her perky butt moving with each step, bouncing a little bit. I’ve never seen such a pretty butt on a girl before, but I knew we would have to have some fun before the contract was over with. I just need to convince her to go through with it though first.

Mila

Time couldn’t go by fast enough as I waited to get off of work. After speaking with that man, time seems to just be going by as quickly as a snail moves. It didn’t help with Alyssa who was glaring at me like I was the one who had done something wrong. It wasn’t my fault that this man was crazy.

“I’ll hear you out but don’t expect me to just go along with this,” I told the man firmly as I sat down across from him, watching him sipping on his coffee like it was a lifesaver.

His perfect lips twitched into a slight smirk, shrugging his shoulders, “I would be more afraid if you had just accepted it right away. It would’ve made you seem desperate like your little friend over there.”

Glancing over, I saw that he was talking about Alyssa who was watching us, her face etched with jealousy. Her eyes met mine, and she quickly looked away, as if she was embarrassed that she had been caught looking at us. Furrowing my eyebrows, I turned back to him, wondering why he looked so pleased.

“Explain then,” I whispered, wanting to get this over with.

His cold eyes met mine now, and there was an emotion there that I couldn’t quite decipher. It was the look of a man who knew what he wanted and would do anything to achieve it. Sighing, he folded his hands on the table.

“What’s your name?” He asked me, noticing that I wasn’t wearing a name tag.

“Mila,” I responded, wondering if this was a good idea to be telling him.

“I need a girl to pretend to be my fiancee.” He explained to me as if it was the simplest thing in the world, “I don’t want to go on blind dates, nor do I want a woman in my life. I need to appease them for a month for a wedding, and once that is over, our contract will end and I’ll just say we both wanted different things and pretend to be heartbroken.”

“Why me?” Was my question, trying to make sense of all of this, “I’m sure you can get any girl out there to do this.”

“Not any girl.” He disagreed, watching me with those predatory eyes, sending a shiver through my body, “I need a girl who won’t fall for me and cause problems in the end. I think you’ll be that kind of girl.”

What girl wouldn’t fall for you, I thought to myself.

“I don’t-” I started to say, but he cut me off quickly.
