“The doctor says the spot is really small, so the lower dose of chemo should knock it out. I really like this new doctor I’m seeing in Nashville.”
Another pause.
“I promise. You’ll be the first person I call. Love you too. And send Jase and everyone else my love as well.”
She scoots around on the bed and holds the phone out to me. “He wants to speak with you.”
I take the phone and bring it to my ear. “What’s up?”
“You’re staying with her until this is over, right?”
“You shouldn’t even have to ask that question.” Grabbing Ally around the waist, I lift her over my lap until she’s straddling my hips. “You know I wouldn’t be anywhere else.”
“You’re covered with Nick?” he asks.
“He knows I won’t be back until Ally’s able to come home with me, and he’s cool with it.”
“Good.” He grunts. “Jase and I will be coming up soon. We can only stay for a day or two since I’m covering for you at the bar. But I want to see for myself that Ally is okay.”
“She’ll enjoy seeing you.”
Ally smiles at me, confirming my statement. She starts playing with the hairs on my chest, and my cock jerks underneath her ass. Her lips tip up into a sexy smirk.
“Is there anything else you need? I have Ally on my lap right now, so I’d really like to fuck my wife before we get up.”
I almost burst out laughing at the look that comes across Ally’s face.
“Too fucking much information, T,” Andrew growls angrily. “That just bought you a fist to the face the next time I see you.”
I laugh when I’m met with dead air after his warning.
“I cannot believe you just said that to him,” she hisses, slapping my chest.
I shrug. “Serves him right for all the times he’s gone into detail about what he and Jase get up to in the bedroom.”
“Jesus, Trent, he’s my father,” she snaps.
“So?”
Before she can continue to reprimand me, I grab her hips, quickly sit up, and flip her to her back. She opens her mouth, but I swallow her words with a kiss.
Just as I had planned, she forgets all about her beef with me and arches her back when I palm her breast.
I grin inwardly. Damn, but I really did miss this woman.
Sometime later, I’m sliding my shirt down my chest as Ally stands at the mirror hanging from the back of the bedroom door, brushing her hair. When she separates the strands into three sections, I come up behind her and take over. Our eyes meet in the mirror.
“How were things back home when you left? I feel like I’ve been gone for months. I hate being away from home.”
I start braiding her hair. “We can always pack up and go back this weekend. Dr. Warren is there to continue your treatments.”
I see the interest in her eyes. Like me, Ally really enjoys her creature comforts, and Jaded Hollow is that to us. We’ve never felt the need to leave town like a lot of young people do.
She shakes her head, almost dislodging one of the sections from my hand.
“As much as I miss home, I’d prefer to stay here and finish what I’ve started.”
“If that’s what you want.”
