Reaching over, she slaps his chest. “Quit it. You know you like Trent. And once you got your head out of your rear end, you knew he was the only man for me.”

“Yeah.” He grunts and looks back at the picnic table. “I have a feeling that little girl over there is going to be just as special as you are.”

“She already is,” Ally states simply.

“She’s lucky to have you and Trent in her corner.”

Ally tucks her head under my chin, leaning her head against my chest. “She’s lucky to have us all. But we’re more lucky to have her.”

With Ally in my arms, hearing the sound of our new daughter laughing, and our family and friends close by, Ally was right when she said our life was perfect.

It couldn’t get any better than this.
