“I knew I liked you, Jane,” Mr. Drew teased, walking into her office. “Hey, real quick. As much as I hate to stop anyone from giving Austin grief,” and then he looked over at Austin and winked, “I just wanted to see how it was going with Molly.”

“All is good,” Austin nodded, giving the two thumbs up.

“She happy with everything?” Mr. Drew asked.

“Yes, I just spent the last two hours finalizing the choices Jane put together for the menus and centerpieces, as well as the wines and desserts, too. The two of us were just about to head down and finish up the last of the details before she heads back to L.A.”

“Oh, good,” Mr. Drew nodded in approval. “You think we’re in a good spot with them now, Jane? I know you were worried about the tight timeline and making sure everything was going to come together in time.”

“Yes,” Jane added, “I’m feeling much better now that some important decisions have been made. Molly knows how tight our deadline is, and she’s going to push Kat and Mike along. Looks like we’re just about to lock down the menu, which is great. I just need her to go through a few more details with me, well… us…” she said gesturing to Austin, “in terms of flowers and entertainment, as well as the layout for the ceremony and reception, but that shouldn’t be difficult to do. I think we’re in solid shape.”

“That’s what I like to hear,” Mr. Drew smiled. “And this kid over here is doing his part?” he asked in a playful tone as he looked at Jane while pointing to Austin.

“He is,” Jane added.

“Good,” he beamed. “Let me know if he gets out of line.”

“Please,” Austin added, “me? Out of line?”

Mr. Drew chuckled, “Yeah, yeah, yeah,” and then he looked back at Jane. “Would love to start pulling in more high-profile weddings like this. Please wish Molly a safe send-off from me. I feel badly not saying goodbye myself, but glad I got to see her last night.”

Jane couldn’t help her reaction to that bit of information and made a confused face at Mr. Drew, “Last night?” she asked, without being able to stop the words from coming out.

“Yes,” he nodded, “she and Austin came over for drinks last night, so it was wonderful to see her. I wanted to get in some face time with her, too. Her business would be great for us.”

“Oh,” Jane nodded, trying to plaster on smile on her face, “that’s great.”

Sensing an uneasiness from Jane, Austin jumped in, hoping to subtly let her know that it was no big deal. “Yeah, we just had quick drinks at my parent's house before I took her back to her hotel,” he added in a light tone. “Don’t worry, no details were discussed about the wedding. I would have told you,” he grinned back at her.

As Jane listened to the words come out of Austin’s mouth, she couldn’t help but hope that the wedding was all they talked about.
