Molly was talking in an animated fashion on the phone, clearly via video, waving her hands as she talked and looking more like she was doing an interpretive dance number, rather than talking business. She was laughing and was very bubbly, clearly excited about the news she was sharing.

The moment she saw Austin and Jane, her eyes got wide and she waved them over while pointing to her phone.

“Hey! I’m on with Kat right now!” she exclaimed with a smile. “Come say hello!” She turned the phone so Kat could see them both walking toward her. It was clear that Kat was in a trailer getting her hair and makeup done, but was obviously excited to talk wedding stuff. Without much makeup, Kat looked like your regular girl-next-door. She was sitting with three other women around her, all prepping and primping away.

Jane instantly lit up and went into work mode. She had liked Kat when she came to tour The Oxford. She knew what she wanted, but wasn’t bitchy or pushy about it. Jane had worked with all kinds of brides-to-be but had been taken by how normal and down-to-earth Kat was. She had asked a million questions, mostly centered around privacy and security. Jane had been able to tell that at the core, she was a girl who just wanted to marry the boy she loved, and this was where she wanted to do it.

` “Hi Kat!” Jane said warmly with a wave.

“Hello there, Kat!” Austin added, giving a wave while flashing his smile at her.

“Hi, you two! Don’t mind me, I’m just getting ready for an afternoon and evening of shooting. You can talk freely,” as she gestured to the ladies around her, “we’ve been talking wedding buzz since I walked into my trailer. I hear Molly got treated to quite the experience today,” Kat added, smiling back. “She’s been raving about the food, the drinks, everything! The photos she sent look AMAZING! I’m getting so excited!”

“So here’s what we’re thinking,” Molly interjected, smiling at Kat and then looking over at Jane and Austin. “Since Kat is dying over my recap of the food and everything,” she said glancing back at Kat on the phone, “you’re dying, right?”

Kat laughed, obviously finding Molly funny. “Yes, I’m dying.”

“She’s dying,” Molly winked back. “What are the chances of flying out to L.A. for a day and recreating these dishes for her in person? She trusts me and my decisions, but she would love to experience everything herself, too.”

Jane’s eyes opened wide as she processed what Molly was saying. “So you want us to bring everything we did today out to Kat in L.A.?” she asked, trying to make sure she was hearing this correctly.

“Yes,” Molly nodded, acting like it was no big deal.

“I know it’s a big ask. I would obviously cover all the costs,” Kat joined in. “It’s just that it’s my wedding, and I would love to experience as much as I can beforehand. Getting to Rhode Island in the next week is just not feasible for me.”

Knowing it wouldn’t be easy, Jane would pretend it was. “We could definitely make that happen,” Jane stated confidently, looking over at Austin with a nod. “I will see about flying one of our chefs out with me and we can recreate the entire spread that Molly sampled today.”

“Oh my God!” Kat exclaimed in a giddy tone, “that’s amazing! When Molly just suggested it, I was hoping you would say that. As much as I love having Molly help me with the planning, it would be great to taste everything for myself. That way I can feel part of the process in some way.”

“I understand,” Jane replied, quickly realizing that it was Molly’s request, not Kat’s.

“I mean,” Kat went on, “the photos of all the seafood just looked incredible. That’s my favorite.”

“Well, if you’re going to have a wedding in Rhode Island, you need to have seafood, especially when you’re in Newport,” Austin added with a smile.

“Yes, and Mike’s a big seafood fan too, so this will be perfect,” Kat agreed.

“OK, so let’s lock this in.” Molly jumped in. “I’ll work out the details with The Oxford team, and arrange with your assistant about organizing flights and food, and whatever else they need. Our timeline is moving at warp speed, so we just need to make this happen quickly.”

“Yes,” Kat nodded, “I will let my team know that this is a priority. Well, that and my dress,” she smiled. “I don't know what I was thinking when we booked this wedding date. I think I must have been nuts at the time!”

“Well, that’s why you hired me, and why you love me,” Molly chimed in with a great, big smile.

“I know,” Kat responded with a laugh, “that’s what Mike keeps telling me. I have a great team in place with all of you. Now it’s just finding a dress.”

“That’s the next plan of attack. I have racks and racks of dresses and veils being delivered this week, so don’t you worry about a thing. You’re going to have options galore, and will have a blast playing dress-up. OK, sweetie, let me go chitchat with Jane and Austin about a few more things, and then I will be in touch tomorrow when I’m back. Sound good?” asked Molly.

“Sounds amazing. Thanks, Molly! And Jane and Austin, thank you for working everything out! Cheers to you both!” Then Kat cut her line.

“So L.A.?” Austin asked, looking at Jane and then over to Molly. “Kat is definitely getting some five-star treatment.”

“I hope it’s not too much,” Molly added, looking at him and then over at Jane with hopeful eyes. “She was hanging on my every word when I was telling her about the food and drinks. She wants it all, but I want her to be sure. I’m sure you know this is how you get things done, especially with my clients. If someone can’t make it somewhere, you bring it to them. Not to mention,” Molly smiled, “she’s about to announce that she’s having it here.”

“Oh, that is good news,” Jane smiled brightly which made Austin smile, too, at her genuine excitement about his family’s business. “Listen, we want this to be the best experience for her. Whatever is going to make this easier for her, we can do it. I can work my schedule around hers to get out there this week if possible. Everything will be recreated. It’s not a problem. I’ll even have a florist recreate the exact centerpieces that I had made here.”

“She will love that,” Molly nodded. “And actually,” she said, looking over at Austin with a devious smile. “Why don’t you come, too? This way you can meet Kat and Mike before the wedding and have a little L.A. fun.”

Jane quickly glanced over at Austin, but his eyes only seemed to be focused on Molly at the moment.

“I’d love to go,” Austin answered without flinching.
