"That's ok," Wesley said. "Most kids really aren't that good. But it's really fun to play. We play every year. In Finley Creek. Where we lived before mom made us move up here.”

“I gonna play T-ball!” Becky yelled.

"T-ball is always an experience. This year, she and Glenna's youngest are doing T-ball. Glenna's middle girl Emmy and Phil's granddaughter Ivy are moving up to beginning coach pitch this year. Glenna’s Evey is in the upper coach-pitch. They had so many girls sign up they divided into two divisions. Nova would be with Evey. Wesley and Philip are playing in the baseball minors, on the same team as Parker. Phil and one of his sons-in-law are coaching Patton's team this year. Noah would be with Patton. Pete plays for the homeschool co-op's team. It's just rec league, no superstars. And it's for the kids to have fun."

Nick looked at his kids. "We can talk about it tonight."

"Can I go to the park with Robin?" Nova asked, clinging to her other hand. Becky had grabbed her left again. The two girls were eyeing each other. "I'll be really good."

"Why don't we all go?" Nick asked. He looked at Robin. "If you don't mind? We need to check it out, too.”

This had not been what she'd intended at all. But off they went; her, him, and five kids between them like a litter of half-feral kittens.
