They were beautiful, they were real…and they were his. He dropped a kiss on his daughter’s temple, then stepped closer to Robin and little Becky. He was right where he wanted to be.

They took their seats again and listened as Nikki promised to love Hunter forever. To the crowd’s amusement, the groom got choked up and a bit tongue-tied when it was his turn. His “I’m sorry, I just flub my lines every time I look at her” had every woman in the crowd oohing and aahing for a moment.

Including Robin, who got a little soft-eyed in a way that made Nick adore her even more.

Mr. Hollywood knew what to say to work the crowd. But as Hunter looked down at Nikki with utter adoration in his eyes, Nick knew exactly how the younger man felt.

“Something like that.” He kissed her, right on the temple. Surrounded by his family on every side. He just pulled her closer. He hadn’t even realized it was as good as a public declaration until one of his brat nieces snickered behind them.

Perci, it was probably Perci. She always had been a little monster. Phil should have grounded her far more often than he had.

Nick didn’t care. He was proud to be with the woman next to him. Now he just had to convince her that being with him was what she needed, wanted, too.
