“Not even if I insist?”
I sighed. “If you insist,” I said reluctantly.
“You need to sleep too.”
“I will rest. I can doze and still hear anything coming.”
She looked up at me, stifling a yawn. “Will you feel rested after that?”
“Enough.”
“You said once we complete this task, we’ll be given a break?”
“That is correct. I’ve heard it is the night after the test is finished.”
Her sleepy smile warmed me through. “You won’t get much rest during that break, however.”
She referred to our kiss and the exploration of her clit. “For that . . .” I barely resisted calling her mate. “For that, I will not miss the sleep.”
“We could try a kiss now,” she said.
“We can wait.”
“You’re suggesting anticipation will make things even better.”
I did want to kiss her. Touch her.
I almost took her up on her offer. After all, we may not be able to find water or make it disappear. Our break time reward may never come.
We could be dead by this time tomorrow.
