Lyric held Baola and smiled. “And seeing that person in your life and knowing they belong makes a family.” She hugged her daughter.

Himera walked to her mate, and they spoke quietly. He comforted her, stroked her cheek and shoulder, then looked at Ylara with concern.

Lyric murmured, “Do you want something to drink, Ylara?”

“Yes, please. I lost a bit.”

Baola smiled, and she darted past the nannies and into the kitchen.

Riithan sat where Salat gestured, and he folded his arms around her. Baola came back with a tall glass of lemonade, and the cook came in behind her with the pitcher.

Baola had put a straw in the cup, and it made it easier when she took a few sips and then cleared the cup to the bottom.

Baola grinned and refilled the cup.

The entire pitcher was drained in ten minutes.

Ylara wiggled her toes and could feel her feet. She glanced at Riithan and could feel his erection under her thigh. Khytten came back from the kitchen, and then, she handed her the vial.

“Seriously? I am going to make cheese with that.”

Salat snickered.

Khytten looked irritated with her. “Drink it.”

“Yes, ma’am.” She slowly uncorked the vial and tilted it back. “Wait. It’s warm and lemony.”

Khytten chuckled. “I have been tinkering with flavourings to help folks who need chronic assistance. Like Sabine.”

Ylara perked up. “She’s fixed?”

“She’s fixed. We have seen Brittany’s mate as well, and he dotes on her. They are so cute together.”

Jealousy flared through Ylara, but she knew Brittany’s path, and it wasn’t easy. “Good. She deserves it. She’s had it the worst.”

The other ladies from their family nodded. Even Salat joined in.

Ylara started to ease away from Riithan. He grabbed her and pulled her back. “You can’t stand on your own.”

“My feet have come back online. I am fine. I am trying to walk off some of the muscle soreness.” It sounded plausible. “I won’t recover if I don’t get my body working.”

Baola smiled. “I will go with you.”

She mentally blessed her niece. Riithan wasn’t able to hold onto her with the entire family watching. She eased off Riithan’s lap, and Baola helped stabilize her as they walked off the patio and into the thick grass.

Baola sighed. “You are still hurt. Your feelings hurt.”

Ylara chuckled. “You saw right through me.”

“You are hurt in a different way than Auntie Brit, but it is deeper.”

“You are open and nosey for someone who still hasn’t called me for that appointment.”

Baola looked down at her chest. “I don’t need one yet.”

“By the time you need one, you will know because other folks will be pointing it out.”

Baola grimaced. “Eww. Are men always gross?”
