After breakfast, she dressed in something a little paler, but the banded underdress was still there. She had figured out what the dress was for yesterday. It improved circulation to the skin, and when it came off, blood rushed to the breasts, waist, and hips. It was like wearing foreplay.

The vehicle that pulled up took them to the Daycross manor. Vallu looked lovely in grey, and she was beaming. “So, I was off by one day.”

Ylara rolled her eyes. “You are no precog.”

Riithan chuckled. “But she can see the inevitable. Oh, Vallu, Ylara wanted me to bring you this.” He extended his hand and the small parcel.

Vallu opened it, blushed, and said, “Ylara, you are a bit of an asshole.”

Etgar looked over his wife’s shoulder, and he laughed. “That was a particularly good day.”

Vallu swatted him. “Shut up, dearest.”

Riithan was frowning. “Should I ask what some paper napkins and a water bottle have to do with things?”

Ylara chuckled. “I had to see it; I do not need to describe it.”

Vallu scowled and then giggled. “Freaking precogs. Can I see the ring?”

Ylara was confused for a moment, and then, she extended her hand with the enormous ruby on it to her friend.

“Whoa. That is quite the rock, but Riithan, if you want to pick jewellery for her in the future, take Baola with you. Or Lii. She has an opinion on everything and pretty good taste.”

Etgar chuckled. “It is the scorpion’s stone. He has had it set for her from the royal collection.”

Vallu gasped. “You knew? Wow, you are so getting to sleep alone.”

Etgar grinned. “We will be right back. Make yourselves comfortable inside.” He carefully snatched Vallu off her feet and sprinted into the house.

Ylara shrugged, and they went inside to wait. Ten minutes later, Vallu was blushing and ruffled, and Etgar was panting and smug.

The documentation had Eylara as her name. She clutched her mother’s pendant and signed a contract with Riithan to legally entangle himself. He didn’t have to, but he signed.

In half an hour, they were married, and one of Etgar’s bodyguards left to file the union at the hall of records.

They stayed for lunch and chatted with Lady Daycross.

“My dear, you have to do something about your clothing.”

Ylara quirked her lips. “Sethir-Nin have a strange habit of dressing their omegas in a really obvious manner. That way, they can identify them at a distance. If they run into an omega not appropriately attired, she is fair game for pursuit.”

Vallu blinked. “Game?”

“It’s a game for them unless the omega is in heat, and then, they will beat the shit out of their best friend for a chance at her. Once the mark is in place, it should subdue her scent, but it doesn’t always work that way. Some alphas like the scent in full manifestation and only mark the back of the neck, so if someone tries to take their female, it makes the thrill of defence stronger.”

Etgar looked smug, and he toyed with the edge of Vallu’s necklace. She swatted his hand away. He laughed.

Riithan smiled. “Ylara’s mark is very precise... and big.”

Vallu frowned with curiosity and came around to look. She asked, “Do you mind?”

Ylara shrugged. “Go ahead. I have no idea what is back there.”

Vallu peeled the fabric away from the back of her neck and giggled. “Oh goodness.”

“What is it?”

Vallu took a picture of it and sent it to her. Ylara frowned as she looked at the image and then elbowed Riithan. “You asshole.”
