Lacy followed her gaze to where Logan danced with the mini skirt woman while talking in her ear. He practically wrapped himself around the woman. She should feel someway about that. After all, she loved the guy and he was all over another woman.

“I’m actually surprised he lasted that long before straying.” Claire shrugged her shoulders. “It’s what the weekend is for. Hooking up, am I right?”

Lacy smiled and nodded like she knew what Claire meant. For Lacy, weekends meant laundry, grocery shopping, and movies, maybe even a new book by her favorite author. Perhaps she really was broken. For a second there, she’d started to feel like she belonged as part of the group. Silly her.

Claire leaned in to yell in Lacy’s ear. “I hope you don’t mind me ditching you with Jonah, but there’s this guy that’s been giving methatlook. You know?”

Lacy nodded even though she didn’t actually know.

“If you guys don’t hang around, I’ll see you Monday at work. It’s been a lot of fun.” Claire took Lacy’s hand and squeezed it. Then she turned to Jonah and said something to him. He gave a nod.

Claire finger waved goodbye as she skirted around the dance floor to a tall guy on the sidelines. Lacy couldn’t help watching as Claire smiled up at the guy and pressed against him to talk to him. It looked so effortless. Before long they were dancing together.

Jonah’s heat engulfed her back. He leaned down to her ear. “Do you want to stay or go?”

Shivers worked through her again. Lacy looked over at Logan with his new dance partner. She should feel jealousy or something but all she felt was apathy. Must be the tequila. She turned her face toward Jonah’s.

“Let’s go.”
