Jonah pushed up to sitting with one arm tight around Lacy so she wouldn’t scramble off him. When he sat up, he arranged her legs until she once again straddled him on the couch. Her cheeks flushed with color when he tipped her chin up.

Her eyes widened as he leaned in and pressed his lips to hers. Her whole body softened against his and her fingers threaded through his hair. She closed the distance between their bodies as he wrapped his arms around her. For a moment, it was bliss.

She pulled away with her eyes wide and covered her lips. “Morning breath.”

“Fuck morning breath.” He growled low in his chest and lifted her hand away before reclaiming her lips. This time he didn’t hold back. He slipped his hand under her shirt and cupped her lace-covered breast. She gasped and he seized the opportunity, parting his lips. He discovered the contours of her breast with his fingers as he explored her mouth with his tongue. She groaned and tugged his hair to pull him closer.

If someone had told Jonah when he moved into the apartment, his fierce little bird of a roommate would be making him want to forget everything and just spend the day showing her all the ways fucking could be a good thing, he would have laughed in that person’s face. Right now, he just wanted to figure out if this was really what she wanted. Her body responded to his as if it had been starving and he was more than willing to feed it, but he needed Lacy’s brain to be up to speed too.

He reluctantly removed his hand from her breast and lifted his head. She sighed. Her lips were full and red from his kiss. Her nipples hardened beneath her shirt. Her cheeks flushed with color. And when her eyes opened, they were blown with desire. He almost leaned in to reclaim her lips; instead he lifted her to her feet.

She swayed slightly but he held her hips until she steadied herself. When he stood, she stared up at him. Her eyes wide and open and so fucking vulnerable. He kissed her forehead.

“Go freshen up and I’ll start the coffee.”

Lacyhurried off to the bathroom and after she closed the door, she took a deep breath and leaned against it. She wasn’t sure she needed coffee this morning. That kiss had been fucking spectacular and her body had hollered a “hell yes” when he pulled her to straddle him. Even now her sex pulsed with longing. Finally she understood what everyone else craved.

It felt like she’d stepped on a freight train that was about to go off the rails. But she most definitely didn’t want to get off the train. She quickly used the toilet, brushed her teeth, and tried to detangle some of her hair. She scrubbed off what makeup remained from last night.

Her hands went to the sink to hold herself upright. Last night. Dancing. Tequila. That shot with Jonah. She’d wanted to lick the salt from his skin. Just being near him made her feel drunk.

Meanwhile, Logan had been more attentive than he’d ever been before he went off with another girl. That girl had been a sure thing and Lacy definitely wasn’t.

Except when she and Jonah had gotten home. The kisses. Yes, please. And what he did with his hands. Her sex clenched just thinking about it. She had no idea how to broach the subject with him this morning. He’d said if she still wanted to, he would be down for it. And that morning kiss. . . .

Something caught her attention in the mirror. She brushed her hair over her shoulder and noted the trailed of red marks on her neck. Her face flushed. Hickeys?

She smiled as her fingers traced over them. Jonah had given her hickeys. She’d never had a hickey in her life. Fortunately, her hair would cover them for work tomorrow. She took a bracing breath and met her eyes in the mirror. She was a healthy adult and so was he. She wasn’t a virgin. Neither of them were in a relationship. They would use protection. So why not?

She opened the bathroom door and Jonah leaned against his bedroom door opposite her. His eyes were guarded, but he smiled at her. As he closed the distance between them, her heart clamored in her chest.

“You gave me hickeys.” The words popped out of her mouth and she quickly covered her lips with her hands.

His gaze dropped to her neck. He lifted his hand and his fingers traced down the line of love bites. Heat burst within her. She couldn’t stop the gasp that fell out of her mouth. At the possessive look in his eyes, her knees almost gave way.

His blue eyes met hers. “Coffee is almost ready. I’ll be out in a second.”

He ducked into the bathroom as she wandered into the kitchen. When she sank into the kitchen chair, memories of last night flooded her. The storm had already started whipping through her and the longing followed. She wanted to know it all. Experience it all. With Jonah.

To calm herself, she quickly walked over to stare at the coffee machine as it didn’t have any memories of kissing associated with it like the chair did.

She tensed but didn’t turn around when she heard the bathroom door open and Jonah’s feet padded across the floor. His arms wrapped around her waist from behind and pulled her against him. She squeaked when his lips found the back of her neck. Then she tipped her neck to the side, eager to feel the sparks igniting from his every touch. His erection pressed against her, giving her a good idea of where he was on the whole “fucking” thing.

Heat flooded through her and her sex pulsed hot and heavy.

His hands went to her waist and turned her around before lifting her and setting her on the counter. He stepped in between her legs and reached up for a coffee cup. Her skirt rode up her thighs. She wished it wasn’t there at all. His heat flowed over her. She couldn’t decide which she was more eager for, his lips on hers or coffee. Definitely his lips.

“We should probably have a talk.” Jonah filled the mug with coffee and handed it to her before getting another cup down for himself.

“Talk?” She took a sip of coffee and arched her eyebrow at him. Consent? He was the one who had initiated everything this morning. But she most definitely had been a willing participant.

“About sex.” He took a sip, deliberately arching his eyebrow like she had.

She smiled at him before taking a few more sips of coffee. “We haven’t even changed clothes since last night.”

He made a sound of acknowledgement. Tracing her finger around the rim of her coffee mug, she raised her eyes to meet his.
