Lacy laughed. “Yeah, not exactly the same thing.”

“You never know, maybe I’ll make you a friendship bracelet.” Logan winked at her.

She just shook her head and smiled. “I’d wear it forever.”

Logan stopped and grinned. “Good to know. Now I just have to find a YouTube video on friendship bracelet making. Unless you want to show me how it’s done.”

“I think you’re on your own for that one.” Lacy’s gaze fell on Jonah. His lips were tight as he made his way into the breakroom with some trash. She hadn’t seen him grouchy for a while. She almost turned to follow him.

“We can sit and doodle our crush’s names in hearts.” Logan’s words drew her attention.

Her heart stuttered to a stop. Did Logan know he was her crush? Or was he still playing his silly game? Or did he think she had a crush on Jonah? She forced herself to laugh.

“Let me guess.” Lacy pretended to think for a moment. “You are going to put Jonah in your hearts.”

Logan laughed out loud. “You know me so well.”

“What’s so funny?” Claire joined them next to the table.

“Lacy says I have a crush on Jonah.” Logan grinned.

“She’s not wrong. You do seem to seek him out. I’m thinking it won’t be long before the two of you are wearing those necklaces with best friends forever split across them.” Claire took a seat at the table.

Lacy couldn’t stop the chuckle that found its way out.

Logan shrugged. “What can I say, I have a man crush.”

The hairs on the nape of Lacy’s neck stood on end before heat engulfed her back.

“You have a man crush?” Jonah’s gravelly voice right beside Lacy’s ear made a shiver flow over her. She desperately wanted to lean against him and soak up his scent, his warmth, his touch. But she couldn’t at work.

“It’s a secret.” Logan winked at Lacy and Claire.

“You mean your crush on Jonah?” Phoebe lowered herself into her chair. “Everyone knows about that crush.”

“Shit, the secret’s out.” Logan dropped into the chair next to Claire and put his arm around her shoulders. His grin had a silly quirk to it.

“Didn’t know it was a secret,” Jonah said. His sleeve grazed hers as he walked to his chair and sat down. “You aren’t exactly shy about it.”

Claire laughed. “Yeah, Logan doesn’t have a shy bone in his body.”

“I’m hurt.” Logan looked at Claire like she’d stolen his last M&M.

“No, you’re not.” Claire rolled her eyes.

“You’re right. What do you say, Jonah? Wanna get matching BFF necklaces?” Logan batted his eyelashes like a schoolgirl at Jonah.

“I think we should get to know each other better first.” While everyone laughed, Jonah pushed out the chair next to him with his foot and looked at Lacy expectantly.

She wished she had the balls to sit somewhere else. To not want to be as close as possible to him while this thing lasted. But she didn’t want to be strong. She just wanted to be close to Jonah. She wondered if that feeling would disappear when he left her in his dust. Or if she’d continue to moon after him like a pathetic loser.

As she sat, Drew and Morgan came out of their office. Morgan straightened her skirt while Drew rolled up his sleeves. Phoebe let out a low whistle and Morgan’s face turned red.

“All right, anyone got an idea or should we start spitballing?” Drew sat in his chair and pulled Morgan into hers next to him. The look Drew gave her was perfection.

Lacy sighed. #relationshipgoals

“There was this one ad that just showed pictures of the notes of the fragrance a while ago,” Claire said. “I found it really original.”
