ChapterSix

TARA

“Just hold on to me, don’t panic, and lean in with the turns when we do turn.” Johnny adjusted the strap of the helmet until it was snug under my jaw and stepped back to look at me. “I really can call a cab, if you prefer?”

“Nope. I want to try.” I didn’t, but I did. Fear warred with curiosity, something I was familiar with. I could do this, if he’d stop trying to talk me out of it.

“Awesome. I told you that you were brave. You won’t believe me though, will you?” His smile lit up all the pleasure points in my body, almost making the fear that tightened my throat worth it.

Instead of answering I just smiled.

“Okay, come here. Put your foot here and push yourself up,” Johnny said, indicating a foot peg on the motorcycle. I only knew it was a Harley Davidson because the emblem was highly recognizable, other than that, I had no idea what it was. Blue and black, and full of chrome, that’s all I knew about the metal beast.

I will not panic, I will not panic,I repeated in my head as he climbed on in front of me. once I was settled in, pleased when he put a hand over my right knee.

“You alright?”

“Yep,” I spit out, afraid to say anything more.

“Okay. If at any point you want me to stop, tap me on the back. Otherwise, wrap your hands around my waist and hold on.”

Johnny started the motorcycle then and my eyes went wide. There was so much…vibration. Not so bad.

My apartment was at the other end of the city, a good distance away from the docks, so the ride seemed like a long one. Johnny handled the bike well and when he could, he’d put a calming hand on my knee to check on me. I enjoyed the ride, but I was glad when the bike stopped, and he turned it off, pulling the key out of the ignition.

“Still alright?” He asked and pulled his helmet off.

I pulled at the chin strap and the two sections came apart so I could take my own helmet off. “I’m good.”

“Okay. This is a private area, for members of the club and their guests only. It’s a little wilder than the Red Rose Club, but it’s a good place.” He put our helmets in the saddle bags and took my hand.

I could hear the slight thump of music but nothing else until he stuck his thumb in a scanner and the door released. As soon as the door opened, I could hear the bass pounding all around me. It was…loud.

Johnny made a motion with his head for me to follow so I did.

The front of the place was the typical biker bar, with bare wood walls, hardwood floors, dartboards, pool tables. A variety of beer companies had provided signs that lit the place up from one end to the other. Johnny waved his hand a few times, but he didn’t stop until he reached another door. He hit another scanner with his thumb and soon pulled me in and shut the door. The loud noise miraculously stopped.

“Sound-proofing.” Johnny smiled with straight white teeth and started to walk down a long hallway, lit every few feet with strip lights.

“What is this place?” I asked, noting curtains behind large glass panes.

“This is where we come to play when we want a little adult fun,” Johnny said with a vague smile. “It won’t make you one of us, but you couldn’t be anywhere that’s safer than this, Tara. I promise you that.”

“Okay,” I answered, trusting him. I’d trusted him the moment I’d laid eyes on him, hadn’t I? Even when I doubted whether he would be good for me, I knew I could trust him.

“Here, come sit down in here.” He opened a room with the curtain open. There was a bed inside, a couple of kitchen chairs of plain pine, and two nightstands-one on each side of the bed. “I’ll explain what we’re doing here.”

“You don’t need to. I mean, there’s a bed…,” I blinked rapidly, my curiosity growing as I saw the curtains ran all around the room. “It’s kind of obvious what we’re doing here.”

“Not necessarily,” he answered, taking one of the chairs. “Look behind you.”

I turned, taking in what I’d missed when I walked in. The curtains were open in the next room, but the room was occupied. A woman was pressed up against the glass, a man behind her with his hands cupping her breasts through the black corset she had on. “Oh.”

“Mm, yes. Oh.” He chuckled in amusement. “Do you like to watch as much as you like being watched, Tara?”

“I don’t know.” I didn’t turn back to him, I walked closer to the glass pane crossing our own room to look. The woman, a dark-haired beauty with dark eyes looked back at me and winked. I smiled when I saw that, amused while also slightly…aroused.

The man’s face came up for just a second when the woman spoke, her lips moving made it obvious that she’s spoken to him. His eyes clashed with mine, a tawny color that surprised me, before he dropped his lips back to the woman’s neck and…bit her?
